I have a reservation for Boma coming up (never been there). I'm a bit concerned about the spices in the food. I do not like jerk seasoning (Jamaican) at all, and I know some of the spices are the same. Are the spices at Boma overpowering or just mild? I'm considering changing this reservation, but I really want to try something new. It's scheduled for our last day of our trip and I would hate to be disappointed.

My DH and I ate at Boma last year. I was pleasantly surprised. It's buffet, so you can choose what you want without worries. Try a little of this and little of that. I'm not that into different foods, and was a bit worried. I enjoyed it. HTH :flower3:

Personally, I found it a little bland. There were some unique flavors but nothing was too over-powering for us. For full disclosure, we have been here twice and it is on the 'don't really want to go back there' list....and, it wasn't the 'spices', we just didn't find the food that good compared to some other WDW places as well as to what others have said about it (how great it is). But, like Babsicles said (I just wanted to say Babsicles :rotfl2: ), it is a buffet and you should be able to find enough things to your liking. Also, be sure to try the soups....certainly some of the best items that I had there.

AFrican is not jerk spice. The sauces/relishes that are on the side of most everything at Boma is what has the spice. African food is much like american comfort food. Go, enjoy! You are going to love it!
