Boma Reservation Lost in System - Twice!

About three weeks before my trip, I called Disney Dining to confirm my reservations and check if there was anything available for Wed. evening of our trip. We were traveling with extended family and had a total of 11 in our group. Well, they had everything but my Boma reservation for Thursday evening. What?! I gave them my confirmation number, and it matched up with another person's name and a party of 4. What?! They couldn't even find a reservation for me at Boma any of the dates during our stay, so it's not like I transposed the confirmation number.

They tell me not to worry, they can get us in at 5:40 p.m. at Boma on Thursday evening for our party of 11, give me the confirmation number and assure me we are all set and in the system. Well, we were staying at SSR, so we decided to take a bus from the AK park directly to Boma for dinner. We get torential rains at 3:00 p.m. that didn't let up, so we took the bus early and got to Boma by 5:00 p.m. We had brought clothes to change, so we went to the pool locker room to freshen up. We go to check in and guess what? They do not have us in the system for dinner at all! They check us in as a walk up and tell me it will be 60 to 90 mins. wait! I am fuming! As we're waiting, our family is contemplating taking a bus back to the resort and getting pizza delivered. We also noticed two good sized bugs parade across the waiting area which totally grossed out some family members! Get me the manager! I calmed down enough to speak to Kevin the manager and very politely explained the situation and how could they lose my reservations twice? He tells me he'll go to his office and look up all my reservations and see what's going on, give him a couple minutes. When he comes back, he tells me again, he did not see a reservation for our party at Boma's at all during our stay. God, I wished I had my confirmation number with me, I had left it back at our room. He was very apologetic and said he would seat us as quickly as possible, but he had four parties of 10 before us. We ended up staying and overall only had to wait 25 minutes for our table.

I was very glad we stayed. The food was good and everyone was happy after we were seated and enjoyed their dinner. But really, what are the chances they lose your name twice for the same restaurant? Something is Goofy with their computers for Boma!
 
Wow! It sounds like Brian went above and beyond to get you your table! I have had to wait in excess of 25 minutes at Boma for my table for 3 more than once. We kinda expect it and relax in the bar upstairs. I'm glad that the food was good :). It's one of our favorites!

Note to self: Verify Boma reservation.
 
When i changed my room only reservation to an Annual Pass package with dining I confirmed my ADRs and had them add in that I was now on the dining plan. The CM that was helping me couldnt find any Boma reservation attached to my name and number as well. So I gave her the confirmation number and it was for my first name--spelled wrong, and my last name--totally not even close to what it was. And a completely different phone number.

I guess either its the CMs faults, or maybe on your case, the system gave out the same confirmation number at the same time............... twice. :upsidedow

Oh the perils of human + computer relations. But in all aside, I am glad the manager was accommodating and reasonable.
