I don't have a breakfast reservation, so there are no characters involved. Which one should we do (my DH and I plus our 3 girls (8,6, and 2)?

We took our little ones to Boma for dinner and everyone loved it! The resort is beautiful and you can step out onto the veranda to see the animals. They also had some activities going on for kids -- little song and story -- we all participated and had a blast.

A possible downside is that it's obviously easier to just eat at Tusker House in AK if you're already there. You've got to get yourself over to AKL via bus to AK and then bus to AKL, or just drive separately.

Food and atmosphere were different, lovely and fun at Boma.

Hope you have a great trip!

Boma or Tuskar? Yes to both, we love both, so in my opinion you can't go wrong with either.

Im so torn on this as well. We already have breakfast ressies for TH but was thinking about something different for this trip..we have done the breakfast at TH 3 times now and thinking Boma might be the way to go.

I LOATHE buffets... but we did Tusker House for lunch last year (free dining!) and it was really good! So good we're going again in October without free dining.

I haven't tried Boma yet, but we're going to try breakfast there since we're staying at Kidani.

I just cancelled Tusker House. Though we love it, I really want to try different dining experiences this year. So Boma it is. I really want to see the resort and think it would be cool for my kids to see the animals if they are out.

Just did both last week. Boma for dinner and Tusker for breakfast.

Both were excellent but if you're looking for characters it has to be Tusker House. We had good character interaction there although be warned, Donald does not come to the tables. You get a photo op with him when you're seated and that's it. Mickey, Minnie and Goofy come around to the table.

On my last two trips I did both. Lunch at Tusker House and dinner at Boma (on different days).

If I were to do just one I would go with Boma. On most of my trips it is the only ADR I even make. TH is very close and since it is a lunch instead of dinner the price is much less. If you are worried about whether or not you or your family will like the food I'd go with TH just because it will cost you less to find out. If you are confident that your family will like the type of food offered I'd go with Boma.

Thanks for all of the advice....I do have one more question, though.

Do the animals stay out all day or do they put them up around 5 like at AK?
