Okay.. I have to cancel one of these ADR's and I'm not sure which one.. I've never even been to Animal Kingdom, even though this is our 3rd time as a family to WDW. I have two kids, 4 and 6, the little one is picky, won't eat more than PB&J. Which one has more vegetarian options? my husband does eat Chicken though.. Which one has good desserts? Thanks so much! This is for either TH-LUNCH or Boma- Dinner

I'd stick with the dinner. I always think a lunch buffet is WAY too much food in the middle of the day. IMO the food quality is fine at both of them.

But I would pick Boma for just about any meal anyway. Great selection of food for just about anybody. Ok I don't think they have pB&J for dinner. But surely you exaggerate: a child cannot live on PB&J-if he tried and his parents let him:scared1: he'd be hospitalized in a month.

Yes there are plenty of vegetarian options: it's a buffet.

Really good desserts-ever heard of Zebra Domes? Gotta try 'em

And try to plan so you get there early, or stay late. Exploring the public areas of AKL is a real treat.

Haven't eaten at Tusker House, but we had dinner at Boma and didn't care for it.

Not that the food was bad, just not our tastes. I had researched and heard it was "spicey", so I thought ok we like hot spicey. Well it is not "hot spicey". They use spices like cinnamon, vanilla and fruit flavors in everything. I do mean everything. The meats were rubbed with it, side dishes and soups were all sweet. We sampled every dish that night trying to find something that didn't have a sweetness to it and found none.
Oh the kids station was plain, nuggets and mac&cheese, but that was so bland. Yuck.

So by the time we were finished and at dessert neither of us wanted anything. Our whole meal tasted like a holiday dessert.

Needless to say we weren't happy and an hour later were hungry and had to have CS.

We normally eat at Boma for dinner. Remember that Boma is not at the Animal Kingdom, but at the AK lodge so you'll have to take a bus over there (which is no big deal).

There is a very good variety at Boma. I am also vegetarian and can always find more than enough to eat. They have great soups and salads too. I would recommend making earlier reservations with little kids. We also make later reservations and end up having to to wait for a while for our seats.

This year we're trying to Tusker House for the first time. We wanted to switch it up and didn't want to spend all the traveling time back and forth from the lodge.

Enjoy! :wizard:

I've eaten at both and, to be honest, I was underwhelmed by Boma. (Sanaa is much better imo)

My mom and I both agreed that Tusker House (where we had gone for lunch) was one of our favorite meals of the trip! The vegetable samosas... sooo good  and there were so many options there. Plus it was really nice to get out of the heat and crowds at AK in the middle of the day. I'd say keep the lunch ressie at TH

We like them both and prefer Tusker House for lunch and Boma for dinner. I agree with the poster who mentioned that exploring AKL was an interesting aspect to having dinner at Boma, however, I also believe that you should experience Animal Kingdom Park. It's a wonderful park and we never make a trip to WDW without including it.

Tusker House is my fave!!! We did it for lunch 2 years in a row and then last year I decided to try Boma for dinner since it gets rave reviews here and Tusker is referred to as "Boma-lite." Let's just say I was sooooo sorry I didn't keep Tusker House and went with Boma... I just didn't care for Boma at all... and those infamous Zebra domes? Hated them! :confused3

My 2 girls (now 10 and 8) are very, very picky eaters as well and they always find plenty @ Tusker House. There's quite a few vegetarian options as I recall :thumbsup2
