We have a reservation at Boma for dinner on our AK today, but are considering changing it to TH now that they are offering dinner (assuming we can get a reservation) any thoughts?

As far as I recall, Tusker House always offered dinner. Did you mean, characters are now appearing at dinner?
Between the two, even thou we've never tried Boma, i'd probably go there instead of Tusker. I just didnt like the lunch/dinner offerings. We enjoyed Tusker breakfast way more than lunch/dinner.

Not even close IMHO. TH is good, but honestly Boma's is probably one of the best TS on property..They call it a buffet, but that word does it no justice....There's sooo much to choose from, the waiters/waitresses are very attentive, the chef ( as in mostly all) will come to your table if needed for allergies. Not to mention the abundant amount of desserts to boot.
I think both are excellent and I'm having a hard time choosing! Tusker House might win by a smidge. I'm actually really bummed that Tusker House changed to character dinner - that was our nice quiet (super delicious) dinner when we didn't WANT a big stimulating character to-do. I was looking forward to going back, but Boma won out for our next trip because of that.
Sounds like I'm going to need to get an ADR at Boma. It's just DGF and I so we don't NEED the character dining except Ohana since we both like Stitch (the character and definitely not the attraction)
We were at wdw last month and had planned to do TH for lunch one day so my son could see Mickey. My mother, an accomplished home chef who could care less about characters and is also a very critical eater, was blown away. It was all so delicious that we decided to return later in our trip. And it was all still delicious (chicken stew, steak with horseradish sauce, israeli couscous salad, curry rice, my mouth waters at the taste memories). The thought to try Boma too crossed our minds but it seemed like a bit of a hassle to get to since we weren't staying at AKL. All this being said, now we'll have to do Boma on our next trip to see how it compares. What are some standout items there?
We prefer TH breakfast, and BOMA dinner.
That being said, I am however, considering trying TH dinner since they are going to have characters starting on 3/8.
On my AK day Boma is booked up until 7:45 and I don't want to eat that late.
Here's my question though. AK closes at 7pm but they have ressies open for 6:45pm. How much time do they give you to eat considering the park closes 15 minutes after the ADR time?

We have eaten at Boma many times, never at Tusker House, but it's always on my list. Love, love, love Boma. Have you ever visited the Animal Kingdom Lodge? If not, I would factor that in. It's just an amazing place - worth a visit for sure. There's so much to look at in the lobby, and Victoria Falls is nice for a drink while you wait for dinner. I love the gift shop too! There are items there you just can't get anywhere else.
I have a question about the dinner to lunch transition. If I make a lunch reservation for 3:30 but I'm still there at 4 do I have to pay the dinner price?
