I know the two restaurants aren't similar in any way, but my parents are letting me pick a restaurant for mr graduation dinner. I can't choose between the two!

We're staying at the AKL and I like the idea that Boma is in our hotel. I'm going "seperatley" with a group of friends (we booked our own flights, and reserved the hotel and are paying for our tickets ourselves. Actually, my parents are DVC members and split their points with us for the room. They're also booked at the AKL same time as us!) and my parents want to treat me to a dinner. Going to Boma for dinner would be an easy option, just incase my group doesn't go to a park that day and I don't have to use up a ticket for dinner. The only problem is that I don't know if my little brother and sister will like the food. All they eat is spaghetti and mac and cheese, they don't like to try new things. But for Teppan Edo, I love hibatchi! I love japanese food and I had no idea that disney had a hibatchi restaurant!

I've heard great things about Boma, but I haven't heard many reviews from Teppan Edo.

What do you guys recommend? :confused3

I have eaten at both and Teppan Edo is our absolute fav restaurant at WDW. We eat there on every trip. However, I am probably the minority. There are a lot of people on here that LOVE Boma.
Do not worry about pleasing everyone else. Especially as it is a celebration for you, so choose what you like.

I was not impress with Boma dinner but we do love Boma breakfast buffet. They do have a pasta station (they have noodles with sauce on the side and have mac and cheese).

I love them both but I would have to say Teppan Edo. It is a much more fun experience and with buffets, people are getting up and down to get more food so I think it will be better for everyone to just eat together and be waited on.

We LOVE Teppan Edo! It's delicious and a fun place to dine...I'd go there over any other place! mmm!

But to be honest, I've never tried Boma...buffets are never as good as a regular sit down place in my opinion tho

Funny, those are the 2 must do's on my list for my next vacation.

Everything else is up to the wife.

:)

We have a lot of Teppan Edo style restaurants where I live, but no buffets like Boma, so I pick Boma. :thumbsup2

Boma is my absolute favorite. I didn't actually expect to like it...or maybe I should say I was weary to try new things. It was some of the best food I have ever had..possibly the best.

Teppan Edo. We went there this past trip for the First time and will be heading back on our next trip. I wouldn't use a park ticket just to eat so if you go try to plan out atleast that day to be at Epcot.

my personal choice would be teppan edo, however, I think Boma would be great because you're staying at AKL (I'm v jealous!) and it's very yummy. There really is something for everyone too.

Enjoy your special day
xx

Me, too! It sounds like you have some that you like where you live, so maybe try something totally different?

Just FYI, Teppan Edo doesn't have the fried rice you probably get at your local hibachi places, if that makes any difference to you!

We ate at both restaurants on our last trip.

I loved them both, but DH, DS, and DD preferred Teppan Edo.

Boma was hectic and noisy. TE was more relaxing and, of course, entertaining.

Personally, I think they are both must do's!

But, from what you said, it sounds like Boma would be better for your group since you don't know if everyone will be going to Epcot that day. Also, as the previous posts say, since Boma is buffet it has more choices for picky eaters (and great flavors for those who are not!).

Best wishes for your birthday!!

We've done both and Boma is our favorite. (It's my favorite on Disney property...)

Teppan Edo was good, but about the same as other hibachi places that I've tried at home.

Haven't done Teppen Edo but think Boma is a great choice for you. The fact that your staying at AKL is a positive. But there are options there to suit everyone. Food for the more adventurous eaters in your party and also normal options for those that dont want to try something different.

Boma is fine for picky eaters!! You can get Japanese food in your hometown, so I'd skip it.

We didn't care for Boma dinner - too many "flavors of Africa" for us. We did however, love Teppan Edo - very good & alot of fun - we will be going back to Teppan Edo this year.

Teppan Edo - just so-so food that you could get anywhere and too salty; will not be going back again

Boma - unlike any place else I've ever eaten, absolutely fabulous and already have a reservation for our upcoming trip in May! Can't wait to go back! :thumbsup2
