We are staying at the AKL and wanted to try one restaurant there for dinner one night. Any thoughts on these two. I know Boma is buffet and Sanna is not so I am leaning towards Sanna.

Thoughts????

I've eaten at all 4 dining spots at AKL: Mara, Boma, Sanaa, and Jiko. I like them all and wouldn't hesitate to pick one of them, depending on the type of meal we wanted. If you like Indian style cuisine, then by all means give Sanaa a try. It's one of our absolute favourites in all of WDW. Here's a link to another current thread about it:

On the other hand, if you're not a huge fan of spicy food, Boma would definitely be the place to try. IMO it's one of the better buffets, with something for everyone from the pickiest to the more adventurous.

I've been to all four many times also.

Although Sanaa is not close to authentic Indian food, it is going to have those flavors so if you like Indian food, I'd recommend Sanaa. The restaurant is quite nice, service is excellent and the food is very good. Portions are very large. The pickier eaters in my family have been able to find at least one thing they liked.

Boma is a buffet, and it's noisy. Many of the dishes are African spiced which is on the sweeter side than Indian food. The selection is amazing but if you don't like that sweet spice, you are going to have a small selection. We took my best friend and her husband, both picky eaters, and although they were willing to try many things, they ended up getting items from the children's pod. It's a lot of money to spend if you are going to eat chicken nuggets and French fries.

Boma may be a buffet, but it has great food, and lots of variety, and the desserts are yummy - it's definitely our favorite. We've been lots of times and always had a great meal and great service - just make sure they don't seat you by the entrance to the buffet line area - too much "traffic".

As others have said, both are wonderful. Boma's is very loud and can be quite busy. Sanaa is quieter. In terms of food, it's hard to compare. Sanaa's food is Indian while Boma's is a African buffet. I must say Sanaa's bread service is our favorite food at all of WDW.

Good luck with your decision.

We've never eaten at Sanaa, but we love Boma......it's a must do for us every trip :goodvibes.

Boma is a must do for us every trip. We are not big on buffets but never miss this one.

We ate at Sanaa for the first time last year and really enjoyed it, especially the tapioca pudding for dessert.

If I could only choose one it would have to be Boma.

Without hesitation, I would choose Boma! It is a must do for us every trip. WE don't like dinner buffets very much but we LOVE Boma. The food is great as well as the service. The hummus is AMAZING!

They are both good, but I like Sanaa better. Boma is loud and chaotic since it's a buffet in a wide, open space.

I find Sanaa to be much more relaxing. The food is quite good and very interesting.

Boma has the best buffet both breakfest and dinner of anywhere at WDW in my opinion. Sanaa is fantastic also. Completely different dining experience so either way you can't go wrong. If it were me i'd do Boma for breakfest and Sanaa for dinner:thumbsup2

Boma is wonderful for both breakfast and dinner.

Cape May is wonderful for breakfast, I have not had any other meal there.

We've eaten at both, but if I had to pick one to go to again it would definitely be Boma! So much variety and the decor is really cool!

We've been to both and loved both. But if I had to choose, it would be Boma! It's our favorite!

We love Boma!! I didn't really like Sanaa at all, it was dark and we couldn't see the animals either. DH and I were both "meh" about our food. Kind of disappointing since we both were really looking forward to it. I am going to give it another try though...sometimes, it's the entree that is picked, rather than the food itself as a whole, that is disappointing. So I am hoping that was the case. Three meals at Boma, all dinner, loved them all :lovestruc:thumbsup2

Honestly I would say try both if you can! ;)

Both are very good, but completely different from each other. If you could I would say do Sanaa for lunch when the animals are out but the menu is I think the same as dinner, and do Boma for dinner.

Agree with the PP that said the tapioca pudding for dessert at Sanaa :cloud9: Much better (IMHO) than the chai cream.

Didn't have one bad dish at Sanaa, and although Boma certain foods can be hit or miss...there are plenty of options so you're bound to find something everyone will enjoy! Honestly, you won't be disappointed with either one.

We have been to both & you can't go wrong with either.

The fun & unique thing about Sanaa is you can request a window view and you are basically dining IN the Savannah! We were surrounded by zebra, giraffes, and lots of other animals!:goodvibes
