We're planning to go to either of them after our day at AK this August.

We want to make an ADR but dont know the time yet cos we'd like to see RoL but theyre no times for that yet. Should we wait till they say the times or make an ADR for around 9 pm?

Also, which one of them is better? We love Tusker House and would love similar food. Is it all African food? In tusker house theyre Samosas so maybe there's also Indian food? We absolutely love Indian! Are you able to see the animals from Sanaa at night?

We've never been to either and I'd like to know the best thing from each one. My family is of 4 adults, one 19 y.o. (Me) and a 15 y.o.

Is there any other thing we shouldnt miss while visiting AKL?

Thanks a lot!

I can't help with ROL, too soon to know. Boma and Sanaa are both very good. I'd say that Boma and and Tusker House are in the same ballpark. Boma is a HUGE cavernous noisy place, Sanaa will be more of a calm atmosphere with a bit of fine dining flare.

I'll let someone else chime in with suggestions for other AKL activities, it is a gorgeous resort. :earsboy:

We love Saana. The food is unique, and you get the added benefit of sitting in an area that lets you see animals roaming outside the windows, at least until dark. Since you're planning on going late this may not matter -- or perhaps you could break up your visit to AK and dine earlier (it's a quick bus ride from the park to the resort).

Boma is good, but it is a buffet. It is usually quite crowded and while the food is good, it doesn't have the ambience, waited table service, or the unique food quality that Saana does, IMHO.

Forgot to mention, we already have a res for lunch to Tusker House - im guessing from your comments that Boma is similar to TH? We're not exactly picky eaters but I read Sanaa has some indians so that should be good for us - it looks like a tasty menu!

Its a pity we cant see the animals from Sanaa at night :( is there any sort of entertainment in any?

Thanks guys for the help!

Tusker is slightly more similar to Boma than it is to Sanaa in MHO so you maybe better off w/ Sanaa. Sanaa is Indian inspired but with African flare. There is no entertainment other than people watching in Sanaa. You might be able to see shadows out there at night since it's August and the sun does set late in the evening but it will be pushing it for a 9 pm ADR. You can always change your ADR based on when they announce times for ROL but just know if you are going to Sanaa to see animals while you eat, you will not at this time of night.
We always eat lunch in Sanaa so we can see the animals but the food is one of the best on property there.

Both are great places. Like a PP said: Boma for variety and Sanaa for adventure. I love Sanaa but hubby doesn't like it.

I love Sanaa, especially the bread service.

I was not impressed with Boma when I went, however, that was back in 2008-2009.

Boma is the best buffet in WDW, but it has some similarities to TH. We really like it. Sanaa is Indian-South African fusion, so you might like this better, if you enjoy Indian cuisine.

As for timing your meal, I'd actually recommend that you make an early dinner ADR, and then return to AK for ROL. This show won't be shown until after sunset - so 8:30 at the very earliest in summer.

Boma means buffet and more variety, Sanaa wins for atmosphere - the animals are walking around right there with glass walls. Bread service at Sanaa is popular, food is adventurous there as well. More options that might be considered "normal" at Boma (although there are unique things there as well!). It depends on your tastes and what is the most important...atmosphere vs more food options. There is my two cents! I like them both!
