I am so torn. I know I have read you cannot go wrong with either. The menu items at Sanaa are things I have had and know I love, but I feel like a wide selection of foods at Boma might be better to get a little taste of several things. I just am not usually a soup person. Not that I don't like soup, I just don't usually opt for soup. Any opinions? I almost feel like i should just flip a coin.

We've eaten at both and definitely preferred Boma (have had 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts there). The variety is huge, and everything was delicious! Sanaa was "okay" but not something is feel the need to repeat, for sure.

Hope this helps your choice:

Our Ratings of Boma - Dinner: (*rev 1/26/2014*)
. . . food price value: C
. . . food quality: C
. . . food quantity per serving: A
. . . food prep speed: A
. . . food selection: C
. . . seating quantity: B
. . . seating comfort: C
. . . eatery atmosphere: D
. . . eatery convenience: C
. . . staff friendliness: C
. . . staff attentiveness: B
. . . character interaction: n/a

Our Recommendations:
. . . appys:... Soup
. . . entree:.. Soup, Soup, Soup
. . . dessert:. Zebra Domes

NOTE1: Boma is outstanding for breakfast. For dinner it's below average and worth
passing by. I've worked in Africa, and menu items are highly Americanized, which
distorts the flavor - it is neither African no American and coms off as a mish-mosh.
African and Middle Eastern are spiced with cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, cardamom,
which can make food appear sweet. If doing dinner, go for the soups. There are
fifteen different soups at five per night. Leave the meats, salads, the desserts,
except for the Zebra Domes. FYI: bring the ear plugs, as it does get REALLY noisy;
we think AKL was a good location - it sounds like a herd of elephants coming through.

NOTE2: We always ask the waiter what he recommends. Much to our surprise was
is comment was, "taste all of our soups, as they are terrific, and leave the rest of
the buffet to the tourists." This was our birthday dinner, so the statement really
stood out, and it was true.

Our Ratings of Sanaa: (*rev 03/13/2014*)
. . . food price value: B
. . . food quality: B
. . . food quantity per serving: B
. . . food prep speed: B
. . . food selection: C
. . . seating quantity: C
. . . seating comfort: C
. . . eatery atmosphere: B
. . . eatery convenience: C
. . . staff friendliness: B
. . . staff attentiveness: A
. . . character interaction: B (views of animals on savannah)

Our Recommendations:
. . . appys:... Indian Style Bread Service, Lamb Kefta
. . . entree:.. Tandoori Lamb, Beef Short Ribs
. . . dessert:. Banana Kulfi Sundae (if not on menu, ask for it from Kid's Menu)

NOTE1: Has good regional African food. Americanized, but definitely more adventurous
than other eateries. The menu is shorter than other table service eateries, the wine list
average, but the quality of the food and presentation are high. An added benefit is the
viewing animals on the Savannah during the meal (for daylight hours). There are eight
window tables and six more with good views. For lunch, try the Lamb Kefta open face
sandwich; for dinner, try the beef and lamb. Don't miss out on the Banana Kulfi Sundae.
We really like the bread appy/sampler, as well as the salad sampler with three salads;
either will feed two people. Be aware that items labeled as "Durban" are highly spiced,
best washed down with cold milk! It is out of the way, but is worth the long drive. This
is only one of the five sit down eateries we patronize at WDW. In our opinion, Sanaa is
better than Jiko or Boma. As a side note, Sanaa changed their "trio dessert" in October
2013. We were not impressed as the previous version. In fact, color us underwhelmed.
As a postscript, they accomodate kids really well.

NOTE2: We prefer the lunch over the dinner.
. . . the fare is a little lighter
. . . the price is better
. . . the appys and salads are the same
. . . the lower number of people eating
. . . the ability to see animals on the savannah

Both are good. I personally prefer Boma. Sanaa is nice, esp. if you score a table by the window and as someone with food sensitivities, I was given my own menu that was specifically for that sensitivity. At Boma, I was walked through the buffet and the chef prepared some special items. So the service at both, was excellent.

I prefer Boma overall because of the variety and though I rarely get soup when I go out...I would pay the buffet price at Boma just to have the Coconut curry soup. :goodvibes I think I also prefer the African flare to the dishes, as to the Indian flare of Sanaa. If you can get good Indian food at home, I'd go with Boma. Restaurants with great African flavors are fewer and further between.

My pick is Sanaa. It is more authentic and I prefer fresh to order food vice buffets. Plus you can't best the view.

We've never eaten at Sanaa, but we love Boma as it's one of our favorites and is a must do for us every trip.

Sanaa is our absolute favorite restaurant at Disney now. It's a must do for each trip. Besides being on the savanna, we love the bread service with accompaniments (so delicious), the salad sampler, the butter chicken and the beef short ribs and chai cream for dessert.

Start flipping. Seriously. Sana'a is our favorite non signature a la carte restaurant and Boma is our favorite buffet. We tend to alternate. One on one visit; the other on the next.

I love both, but prefer Sanaa because buffets are hard for me now that I can't walk as well as I used to. The food is also slightly to moderately better depending on the day, IMO.

Both are wonderful and good value, Boma more so if you are a big eater. I would recommend Boma for the choice but you can't go wrong with Saana.

While my family enjoyed both restaurants, we preferred Boma of the two. There's a huge variety of both plainer and more adventurous options. Soups aside, there's still plenty to enjoy.

I agree with Rusty...
Eat at Boma once and did not see the big deal... It was decent but way overpriced for what it was compared to a non Buffet ... If you are on DP than Boma is great... Unless all you can eat is a something you need stick with Sana you will likely be much happier.
