I discovered Sanaa - well let's just say it was fate. Had horrible swelling in my left leg over our Kidani stay a few weeks back and I resigned myself to staying close to "home" and staying off my feet as much as possible. We ended up dining at Sanaa 3 times over 2 days, and each time I got a little more adventurous. The concept there is Indian influenced South African cuisine. My kids and I were almost afraid of the food. I don't know how authentic the food is compared to most Indian cuisine, but we loved it. It is not as heavily spiced as you might think...there were a lot of spices in the food, but it was subtle. My favorite meal was the green curry shrimp & slow cooked short ribs with basmati rice (all served in separate bowls - it's a combo where you can choose 2 of 6 entrees and a side of rice or whole-grain pilaf.) I also loved the scallop appetizer (they had a mustard seed crust and a wonderful creamy sauce - I had that for dinner with the pilaf one night and it was great!) My kids had hamburgers or grilled chicken each time - and DD10 even opted for the green curry shrimp our last visit. And I almost forgot to mention the bread service - we are all in love with Naan bread now. There are several others to dry, as well as several dipping sauces. But we just adored the plain Naan and stuck with it! We also had 3 great servers & the decor is warm and inviting with a wonderful savanna view.

Now I can't compare it to Boma since we have never eaten there; I'm a single mom and I like to be waited on when I'm on vacation. So I shy away from buffets. But I think Sanaa is a hidden gem. A very good value for the prices as well. And not nearly as noisy as many of the other non-signature restaurants we've dined at. We'll definitely be back many times.

For our upcoming trip, we chose Boma. I've never been to either, but wanted to see the AKL, and eat dinner there. I'm not much of an "adventurous" eater, so felt the buffet would be better for me, since it would give me an opportunity to try stuff and get something else if I didn't like it. At a normal TS meal, if you don't like what you get, it's a bit more difficult to rectify than at a buffet!

We haven't eaten at Sanaa yet (we will in October) but I voted for it anyway. I would pick Boma over most other buffets. I would also pick a traditional TS over any buffet since we prefer to have a nice sit down meal opposed to the loud and hectic buffet meals.

We haven't tried Sanaa yet either but we will this upcoming trip. I haven't read a bad review yet and it appears to be the new hidden gem of Disney restaurants.

I agree on your views of TS vs Buffets. And with your opinion of Boma. It is, in fact, our favourite buffet at WDW.

But Sanaa, for us, rates as one of our top 5 TS restaurants there (including signatures). As a PP stated: it really is one of Disney Dining's hidden treasures, so ssshhhh! don't tell anyone. I love that I can get an ADR relatively easily.:goodvibes

I've eaten at Sanaa twice and Boma at least a dozen times.

It's hard to choose because the dining experiences are very different. There is no beating the variety offered at Boma. If you are an adventurous eater, you will have the opportunity to try many things you've never considered before. The soups are all very good.

While Sanaa's food is very good for what it is (it does not compare to traditional Indian food), the menu is quite limited and it could be difficult for particular eaters to find something to enjoy. The restaurant atmosphere is much nicer here though, much less chaotic.

Also voting Sanaa. I've eaten at both and Sanaa was such a nice, relaxing meal. It's also really cool to watch the animals meander by as you eat.

We love Boma and always go, but Sanaa is our new favorite. The food and service, IMO, are wonderful. I could have the bread service alone as my dinner and be a happy girl!:lovestruc

Sanaa for sure. I hear Boma hasn't gone too far downhill like a lot of the buffets but I have buffet fatigue. And I love Sanaa.

Can't choose:

When I want a more quiet sit down dinner I'd go to Sanaa or Jiko!

If I'm with the whole loud gang, I like Boma, it's the only buffet I do!

So, it really depends on the mood!
