Help me decide...still learning about both restaurants. I have a reservation at Boma, but I am thinking Sanaa might be more DH's style as he loves Indian food and I hear we might have a great view of some animals. We will be traveling in August for our anniversary.

Sanaa. It's very good and way more true to its roots. Boma is just an underwhelming buffet that makes passing waves to African cuisine.

For all the rave reviews about Boma, I just think it's a buffet and have never found it particularly great. Except breakfast. That's a whole other story. You'll have a much better meal at Sanaa.

I think the food is good at both but the overall dining experience is much better at Sanaa.

* NOTE: Sanaa has good regional tasting food. Definitely
above average. Some believe the price to be slightly high for
the quality and volume of food. The main benefit here is that
one can view animals on the Savannah while eating.

We have eaten twice at Boma. I remember the first time as being an amazing meal. For whatever reason the second time did not blow me away. Yes, it is a buffet. But it's a darn good one.

Been wanting to try Sanaa for some time.

Sanaa! most definitely. I've eaten there three times. I have been very impressed by the food, service, and overall decor of the restaurant. And the views of the savannah just totally put it over the edge into awesomeness. Our servers at Sanaa have been some of our best in all of Disney.

I also like Boma (also eaten there 3-4 times) and had good experiences - but it's big and can get kind of loud. I really like the soups there. But as much as I've liked it, I don't LOVE it the way I do Sanaa! :thumbsup2

...aaaand Sanna it is! DH was cranky that I am agonizing over dinner reservations for six months from now AND that I was asking him to take a look at a possible alternative already...but he also checked out menus and photos from each place and thinks that he will like Sanaa better.

We will likely be heading there on our MK day (not ideal, but I hope manageable). We're hoping to spend a little bit of time peeking around AKL while there since we have never seen the resort. Will the buses run from MK directly to AKL? How do we get all the way over to Sanaa? The goal is to head over for dinner (reservation is for 5:30), spend an hour or so looking around after the meal, and head back to MK for the MSEP and the fireworks.

We had a very long line at check-in this past year at POR and one of the CM's was around entertaining us.

He asked me about some of my dining choices (he noticed that I was traveling solo), and I mentioned I had ressies at Boma. After I checked in, he met me at the Concierge Desk and insisted they switch my ressie that night to Sanaa.

I was blown away - the food was fantastic; the service was wonderful, and the view was breathtaking.

It's very easy to get there from MK. Just hop on to an AKL bus. Sanaa is in Kidani Village, so be sure to get off at the proper stop.

Sanaa was the best meal we had last year.
We really like Boma, but I'm so done with buffet's. They are too expensive, you eat too much, but, that's just my opinion. Boma has a nice buffet though!

I think the overall health considerations of the buffet needs to be considered these days too.

Perfect! I figured that would be the case...I merely feared having to walk a billion miles to get from one part of the resort to another and to find our way. If we want to explore the resort would be be easy to walk/get around, as well?

I totally agree.

We ate there this past weekend. I was not at all imperssed with Boma and it was pretty expensive. The dessert was good, other than that, nothing spectacular. Just overcooked dry buffet food. The drinks and server were great the food was not good.

Oh and the buffet was complete chaos as per usual. People were just not very polite.

Good choice! I like Boma just fine, but I CRAVE Sanaa - it's my absolute favorite non-signature at Disney.

You can just get a bus straight to AKL from MK. There are 2 stops for AKL: Kidani Village and Jambo House. Kidani is first and where Sanaa is located so make sure to get off there.

What time are Wishes amd MSEP the night you go? I wouldn't want to be rushed through the meal at Sanaa, it's an experience to savor!

My dinner reservation is at 5:30 and as far as I can tell so far MSEP will be at 9, followed by Wishes at 10. I tried to leave us enough time to take a good couple of hours at dinner if we wanted to. MK tends to be a short-ish day for us, too, since we're not into the parade or many of the Fantasyland rides, so I think it should work out just fine.

That should leave you plenty of time to eat and take the bus back to the Magic Kingdom. Shouldn't be a problem at all.

Enjoy Sanaa!
