Boma or 'Ohana for Dinner?

I have an ADR for Boma right now because I've heard great reviews about it. We were looking to try something new so I booked it. However, I keep hearing about this AMAZING bread pudding at 'Ohana which made me look at their entire menu, which sounds amazing as well.

I'm so conflicted. I only have room to do one or the other. Which would you recommend?

Additional information: We will have our car to drive to the dinner. We plan to split the day with AK and the resort, maybe the pool (if its warm enough).

If you read more reviews on O'Hara you will see varied opinions. it it hit or on miss on food quality and the waits for an adr can can be well past your reservation time. When it is running running well it seems O'Hara is fine. Personally I would go with Boma.

I really love them both! If I had to choose, I would pick Ohana. But if my husband had to choose, he would pick Boma. He loves their soups.

I thought the quality of food at ohana was pretty bad. Slimy wings, tough as leather beef, dry pot stickers, no thanks. Not worth a second trip. I'd definitely stick with Boma.

Both are pretty good. Like others have said 'Ohana can be up and down. It was down for us last time we were there, but that was two years ago. Boma has consistently been good for us for both breakfast and dinner.

This was our experience in August. I "like" 'Ohana, but it has never been my favorite restaurant. My family, on the other hand, insists we dine there every trip, and we generally do. This last meal was the one that put a nail in the coffin for all of them, and was what they all classified as the WORST meal of the trip.

We all like the bread pudding, but there are versions of bread pudding all over WDW, and they really are all good.

I never place negative reviews of WDW restaurants here because I think dining is subjective. I wil share y experience and encourage folks to see for themselves, but not this time. I would have forgiven the terrible food, every retaurant has a bad night. But I cannto forgive the managements decision to let the TABLE FROM HELL ruin not only their neighbors evening, but to let then frazzle their server to the point she was doing all she could to avoid the entire area, which included us. That was not acceptable IMO. From 6 kids up and chanting in the ailes between tables, to them clapping and yelling and jumping all over the place with the three adults cheering them on, to the end of the night with them collapsing in their chairrs still roaring, it was a nightmare

Thats awful! I would have asked to move. If no tables were available, I wouldve waited for another one (If possible of course). Sorry you had such a bad experience. Cant say im surprised though.

That is a coin toss for me, we are doing Ohana for dinner this trip because it fits into our plans better. But doing a late breakfast on our last day at Boma. Both are great, I think that I would give the edge to Boma though... Have a wonderful trip.

I think it depends on what you are doing that day. If you are in MK that day, 'Ohana is a good choice since it's so close. If you're in AK, Boma. Boma is a bit more of a hike if you aren't staying in AKL and we ended up taking a cab back to our resort, so you should factor in transportation. I liked both, but preferred Boma for the food.

I like 'Ohana, but wouldn't get rid of Boma for it. As far as the bread pudding, Boma also has a good one and you can purchase 'Ohana's version at Tambu Lounge without an ADR.

We went to both in early September this year. Both had their good points, but Boma had much, much, MUCH better food. I agree with whoever mentioned the slimy wings at Ohana before (and crappy potstickers). The bread was awful and no butter or anything for it. I also found the entertainment at Ohana to be really annoying (if you like shrill, off key singers strumming a ukelele, it might be more your thing. )

We will go to Boma every trip from now on (it was our first time last month), but Ohana is so hit or miss, it's not a must do for us anymore. FWIW, I liked the breakfast bananas foster bread pudding at The Wave buffet better than Ohana's.

We've been to both and would choose Boma over O'hana any day. The soups are to die for and there are so many wonderful and interesting choices. I will say I'm not a huge fan of their desserts, but I'm really full anyway. Usually, we'll get something sweet somewhere else when we're not full.

I had the opportunity to eat dinner at both for the first time on my last trip.

My friend and I both loved our experience at Ohana and it went on our must do again this year list. The food was all delicious and they were more than willing to keep bringing more. I love that the meal is served family style, you can get more of what you want without having to fight lines

Boma was a very unique option we both decided to give a chance for something different. I found the lines prohibitively long if you wanted to try any of the meat options on the buffet. While I managed to fill up I only found a few options truly to my liking. I don't think the spices used agreed with me either and found my stomach slightly upset later that evening. I didn't get food poisoning or anything like that, just the particular spices they used in the foods were not something I was used to eating. If I was going to Disney and had someone who just had to eat there I would survive but it will never make my must eat list again. I'm glad I tried Boma though. It was just a once and done kind of thing.

I think the decision between the two also depends on your taste in food. If you are are more adventurous eater by all means try Boma, you might find it to your liking. Ohana's food will appeal to a larger group. In addition it has the advantage of the food being brought to you.

Great reviews and information! We are adventurous eaters, including my toddler. And those soups mentioned are peaking my interest. It will be January and nothing is better than soup!

We like both but I'd go with Boma. The soups really were outstanding last time we were there and they had a lot of very good options on the menu. 'Ohana is good but the choices are certainly more limited and service can be hit or miss. Since Boma is a buffet you don't have as much potential for bad service impacting your experience.

We did both in September and preferred Ohana. We liked being served rather than having to wait in long lines at the buffet at Boma. That made it feel more relaxed. Ohana also had live entertainment.

We were there on a good night I think. We were seated right on time and food was delicious. I'm not picky but DH is, and he really liked it.

Both are worth a try for sure. Both resorts are worth visiting, too.

We loved Boma on our last trip. The soups are fabulous, as everyone said. They had saag paneer, which was divine, and of course, there's the zebra domes!!

Another Boma bonus for us was that we got to visit Animal Kingdom Lodge, and we'd never been before. Was a fun experience -- we probably wouldn't stay there because it is remote (relatively speaking) but the resort itself is very nice. Was really neat to tour the resort and see the animals from the balconies.

I wanted to mention that Boma is set up into different pods and you can move around to them freely. This means you don't have to wait in a long line to get to the soups, for instance.
