Boma or O'hana for dinner?

I am in a dilema - we LOVE O'hana (it was our fav. place to eat on our last trip), and don't have it planned this time b/c we wanted to try new places. Had heard rave reviews over Boma and decided to book it on our AK day - eating at 4:55 before MVMCP. BUT now I am hearing lots of negative reviews for Boma and am wondering if we should stick with what we love - O'hana. We are not really picky eaters....

Wanted to see the decorations and possibly see some animals at the AKL since we will be there in Dec. so if we don't eat at Boma, I would still somehow like to make it to the AKL. We do have our own car.

O'hana or Boma? Keep it mind we will be eating around 5pm on a MVMCP night. Thanks!

We ate at both on Spring Break this year. I will admit that Ohana's was also the BEST restaurant according to me. I enjoyed the food more there than I did anywhere else.

We chose Boma's so we can check out the AKL as well. We are glad we went but will not go back. The food was different but good. They had a great kids section on the buffet. My 6 year old had all the nuggets he could
stand.

That all being said I would personally choose Ohana's over Bomas but that is based on food only.

Good luck :goodvibes

Boma!! I love it, really many of the bad reviews are more leaning to the point they use some out there spices...but really it all comes together abolutely beautifully. We have gone there every trip for the past few years, and we love it!

If O'Hana is your FAVORITE, you may not like Boma. I am just the opposite and it's nice to know we can all find yummy things to eat at WDW! I adore Boma but I found O'Hana's overcooked meats and terrible service to be just about intolerable. Hubby thought it the best food of the trip. He ate 2 items at Boma, Count 'em. TWO.

We also decided to try new places on our upcoming trip, so we have an ADR at Boma too. Just like you, Ohana is our favorite place, so we decided to bump another night to go there. We were afraid that our trip would not be the same without it! We will be there in three weeks, so I can't wait to give it a try! Good luck!

We love Boma and will be trying Ohana tomorrow night for the first time

Boma and O'Hana are two of our favorites!

But, if you've never been to Boma, I'd consider giving it a try. The food is very good, but the variety and type of food served, give a great change of pace when compared to the other Disney restaurants.

Plus...
- The AKL is worth the trip just to see the building and art
- The AKL Savannah is great and it's like having a mini zoo at the hotel
- Zebra domes for dessert!
- The service at Boma has always been spectacular!

Ohana. If you are doing MVMCP that night, it makes sense, plus food IMO is better at Ohana. Boma is good, but hasnt been as good to me recently.

I'd go with Boma. It's very different from O'hana, but it's worth going out of your way for. The food is excellent and the zebra domes are one of my favorite desserts on property.

Another vote for Boma - love it! As well l love to try new restaurants - you should keep you reservation!

Boma! I like Ohana too, but Boma is better. And since you've never been there, I think it's great to try new restaurants.

Boma is sooo unique, and the variety of food is just amazing. Plus, you can get a presspot of Kenyan coffee as your drink. Boma varies its menu offerings each day on a rotating basis. We prefer the Wednesday and Saturday offerings more so than the other days.

We love walking into the AKL lobby with the aromas from Boma wafting in the air! :thumbsup2
