Boma or 'Ohana for dinner?

We ate at both for the first time in September and they are both very good:thumbsup2. Boma has more variety as far as food choices (not to mention awesome desserts) but Ohana has fun entertainment :cool1: :cool1: Kids seem to really enjoy Ohana because of the entertainment. They have coconut races for the kids, which is very cute. It's a fun time, even for adults;) But I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

Your kids may be at that age that the kids games at Ohana aren't interesting. Then again, they may LOVE it. It is a good dining experience, but it is often loud and chaotic.

I prefer Boma -- especially if you have an adventerous palate. It offers a variety of unique foods you won't find elsewhere, with a strong showing of old favorites that everyone will enjoy. Definately worth trying.

Can't go wrong with either one, but I vote Boma

This is a tough choice! Both places we dine at each trip.

Boma has interesting foods and normal stuff to if you are not adventurous..and desserts that are soooo yummy! Plus the atmosphere is wonderful and you can see animals as well (the resort is a beautiful one).

Ohana the selection of food is immense but it is yummy and all you can eat! The entertainment is alot of fun (especially is Lipoa is there! She is amazing!).

I think if your kids are adventurous eaters...do Boma

I think if you kids can have a good time and aren't timid and don't mind doing the limbo...do Ohana

Either way you won't be disappointed!

I think Im the only one on the DIS who does _not_ care for Boma.

Blehhhh...

I got full though... I visited the dessert pods over and over. :lmao:

Boma. You don't have to be adventurous to eat here. Even the "different" stuff is pretty good...and there are lots of normal stuff too. The prime rib is awesome as is the ham. IMO, the desserts are the best of any buffet on property. This is my oldest DD's and my Dh's favorite place for dinner and the rest of us also love it! The atmosphere is very nice. We like both, but Boma just has that little extra oomph, IMO.:)

DH and I weren't too happy with O'hana last time. We are really looking forward to trying the new menu and have ADRs for our first night at O'hana. We also having ADRs for Boma on our last night.

:yay:

That's a toughie. Boma has a huge variety of food and I love their desserts, soups and meats. Its also nice to see the AKL and go out to the viewing area before or after your meal.

O"Hana has always been good for us and if you get a nice view of the castle that makes it even better. The entertainment is fun, my dd was still into it when she was nine, I doubt she'll participate this trip since she's 11!

I don't think you can make a bad choice. And also know that if the food at O'Hana doesn't appeal to your kids, they will be happy to serve you a kids meal at no extra charge. Sometimes they tell you up front, sometimes they don't!

I don't think you can make a bad choice. O'Hana is more lively, but Boma is always noisy and crowded so I don't consider it really a quiet meal either. But you aren't entertained with the corny Polynesian singer (that I think is pretty funny) either.

We did both last year and are doing both again this year.

'Ohana - yummy meat, fun atmosphere, heavenly "adult" fruity drinks.

Boma - interesting choices, gorgeous decor, TDF desserts.

You can't go wrong with either.

It seems most posters have the same opinion...but I had to chime in..

BOMA !!:thumbsup2
It is our favorite restaurant in The World and when we are there for more than a week...we visit twice, we love every place we go, including Ohana, but this is the only place we ever consider a revisit in the same trip.
Our 3 kids (DS16, DS 14, DD 11) love it as well, despite the reputation of having "different" food

Boma is great! The food is excellent and the restaurant is beautiful. You will love seeing the animals after dinner and walking around the hotel.
