Boma or Maya Grill?

We've been to both. It's not close, Boma all the way. However, that's if you don't really care about the types of food. If you enjoy Spanish food then Maya Grill obviously. The atmosphere, food (buffet style) is very good at Boma.

Hands down, go to Boma. For us Maya Grill is about the worst TS on Disney property. We really wanted to like it, tried three times. Run, don't walk, to anywhere but Maya.

Boma is the best buffet in all of Disney. Go to Boma you will love it! They have salads, fish, seafood, prime rib, various African foods with a sweet spice to them. It's delicious. And the zebra domes are awesome too!

Have fun!

In 2009, I ate at Maya Grill and really enjoyed it. So much that we went back a 2nd time and it was still really good.

However, since then they changed up the menu and the chef...

Last year, I went to Maya Grill for both dinner and breakfast, both times it was underwhelming to say the least. Steak was bland, service was horribly slow (and not just for me either), and just didn't nearly match the 2009 experiences. The breakfast was also pretty bad and service there, while not slow, was just phoning it in.

Boma on the other hand (also last year) was great. Great food, great desserts (though Maya Grill's Chambord Cholcolate cake was indeed excellent), and we had great service there as well. Going back to Boma this year, Maya Grill, not so much.

We have done both. We just got back home from our wedding stay at the world and stayed at AKL. We decided to do all the restaurants on property since they were all at our reach. I admit I was extremely nervous to do Boma for dinner because I had heard how a lot of things were sweet and/or spicy. I don't like spicy food and I absolutely HATE food that is suppose to be salty to be sweet. We knew we would enjoy breakfast because it has traditional offerings, but boy was I in for a surprise when we had it for dinner. IT WAS FANTASTIC!!!!! Yes, they do offer a lot of sauces and toppings, but you pretty much add it to what you want. The only thing that was covered in sauce were the ribs that were really spicy so I did not like them, but the flavor of the meat was good, just too hot for us. The food was delicious, the prime rib was to die for! The chicken divine. The breads, salads eveything was wonderful!!! I can't wait to go back!
Maya Grill is forgettable. Nothing special about it. To me it was not bad, but you don't want to go back because its plain. We had both breakfast and dinner at the Maya Grill and DH hated both :sad2:
You will defintely remember your meal at BOMA!!! Go to Boma, you will be in for a treat! I do agree with a previous post, Boma is by far the best buffet at Disney World!

So glad to hear that your experience at Boma was good. We are trying it for the first time in June. It is the one place that I'm looking forward to the most.
