Our family is staying at AKL and would like to have one dinner there. It's me, DW, DS (age 21) and DD (16). All of us are pretty adventurous when it comes to eating except for DD who doesn't eat meat (seafood is ok with her). Any suggestions? Thanks!

Either would be great. Don't forget Sanaa is also open now at the new AKL Kidani Village (you just hop bus at AKL and ride right over, get back the same way...very easy).

Sanaa was fabulous when hubby and I went a few weeks ago. Can't wait to go back and try more items on the menu.

we love jiko, but i must say did not care for boma. if you want a quiet meal, then jiko. i would like to try the new sanaa in december.:yay:

Jiko! Dh loves the Filet with mac and cheese. I love the goat cheese mashed potatoes.

I was also curious about this. I was worried about Boma as it will be just my DH and I and we would prefer quiet over lots of choices at a buffet.:lovestruc

Ate at both last week. Would definitely pick Jiko over Boma. Food was very good at both locations. However, I would pick Jiko for a quieter atmosphere and service, as opposed to self service.

Boma is good, but Jiko is one of the best restaurants on Disney property (in my opinion). Jiko also a lot more expensive, so you might want to take that into consideration (but well worth it).

Boma is good to very good. Jiko is great!

You can't go wrong with either one.

Just got back last night - we didn't do Bomo, but Jiko was the best meal of our trip. My 34 year old son pronounced the Duck Confit salad the best salad he'd ever eaten. We had the lamb, which was delicious ( warning - medium = medium rare in my book, but that's what I wanted - and the server warned me). My daughter-in-law had the scallops and said they were the best she'd ever had as well. And my 12 year old loved his curried shrimp.

But: we all are used to thai, indian and true chinese ( not down south chinese buffets ) food. The food wasn't that "hot" spicy, but it was very well spiced.

We did both in Oct, we didnt like Boma dinner at all (we do love the breakfast though) and DH didnt think he was going to like Jiko either but it was his favorite dinner of our trip and he fell in love with the filet, to this day he says it is the best one he has ever had

While we enjoyed the food from both Boma and Jiko, Jiko wins hands down. I didn't even dine in the restuarant (we ordered room service) and thoroughly enjoyed a quiet dinner while our little ones slept. My husband swears that filet w/ mac & cheese is the best he has ever tasted and I am in loved with the stuffed piquillo peppers. It is seriously that good. I can't wait to actually eat in the restaurant someday (when both kids are old enough for the kids club).

Thanks for all the input, folks. Just made ADR at Jikos and can't wait. The DISboards come through again!!!!

Just wanted to add that we ate at all 3 of the restaurants at AKV last week. We really like all of them, but I'd definitely rate Jiko the best, with Sanaa a close second. (Sanaa was EXCELLENT by the way - service AND food.) But you seriously can not go wrong with Jiko! (We also like Boma, but it's a very noisy buffet.)
