DH and I are interested in both of these restaurants, but we're only going to choose one of them (too many other places to try!). Which is preferable? I like the look of both places...

I always eat at both! I really like both so it will be hard for me to recommend one over the other...

With Boma you definitely get more variety and can try everything. Boma is a bit louder and much more casual. There are a lot of options and everything is delicious.

Jiko is definitely a fine dining experience. It is quieter and more upscale with a business casual dress. The service and decor are superb. This is the place to go for filet mignon! The maize-crusted halibut is absolutely amazing as well!

I believe the two resturants occasionally share a few items and the flavors are definitely similar. Both have excellent food. If you are paying out-of-pocket I would recommend Boma because you get a lot of bang for your buck. Both resturants are worth it so I would suggest you make your decision on what kind of dining experience you want to have.

Hope that helped!

Love Jiko. We prefer the food here, and the setting is lovely.

Boma is loud, and the both times we went, we ended up eating little from the food buffet (totally our opinion!), but tons from the dessert buffet! LOL!

At both places the service is excellent!

If you want a very good buffet dinner, eat at Boma. If you want a fantastic, romantic dinner with wonderful food, eat at Jiko. Buffet? Sit-down dinner?
