Hi..trying to figure out to go to Boma or Cape May. There are 14 of us including 8 children. I chose Boma due to being at the animal kingdom but I'm thinking of switching to Cape May due to kids loving seafood. Any suggestions about either restraunt would be great!

I would say Cape May, especially if the kids like seafood.

Boma is definitely a restaurant if you want something "different", not sure if the kids would enjoy it.
Most of the dishes are spiced with sweet spices. They are not hot, but very sweet in taste, including the meats.
Many of the side dishes are veggie, but again with a high sweet flavor to it. African spices tend to be more on the sweet than savory side.

Just something to consider.

Having dined at both places multiple times, I would definitely go with Boma. The food is a notch or two better than the food at Cape May (it's good at Cape May, but not quite as good as Boma). We once ate at Boma with a large extended family group (22 people, including kids of varying ages) and everyone found lots to their liking.

Definitely agree with the Boma choice. The buffet at Cape May is good but we really enjoy the different variety of food at Boma.

There is still plenty for the kids at Boma, its not all spicy different food. I remember nuggets, mac & cheese etc on that buffet for the kids.

I think if you are AK, then Boma might be the best, only 5 minutes away by bus. But if it were me, I would go to Cape May's if its convenient.

Just returned recently and ate at both Boma and an old favorite - Cape May Cafe. We were looking forward to CM and were very disappointed in the food. It wasn't bad. just not as good as we remembered. Boma, however, was very good and there seemed to be plenty of choices for varied children's tastes IMHO.

Thanks for your posts!! I think I may just keep our reservation at Boma. Maybe we can swing Cape May on a different day...hard to fit in meals..

I hope you can find another day for Cape may. It a great place for seafood lovers.

I would choose Boma over CM. We have eaten at both and enjoyed the food. After dinner at Boma we were able to go outside and view the animals with night vision glasses. This is something the kids may enjoy. We were able to do this even though were were not staying at AKL.

I've been to both. Cape May is good but that is it. Boma's is one of the best buffet's I've been to.
