Boma or 1900 Park Fare breakfast?

I currently have a 1900 Park Fare breakfast booked for our last day at 9:15. I decided that was too early as we would have to be packed and checked out earlier than we’d like so I’m using TP adr finder for a later time but no luck so far.

As I’ve been checking MDE myself, Boma keeps popping up as an option. I asked the kiddos (two boys 7 & 10) if they’re fine giving up the characters and they said yes as long as they could meet Tigger and Pooh elsewhere. No problem! I told them they could see animals at the resort this restaurant is at and they like the idea of that. DH won’t care and it’ll be a surprise for the in-laws so they won’t know the other option.

So some questions-is that true that we can walk around and find some viewing spots for animals? Also, we haven’t been to either PF or Boma. Food about same in terms of choices, quality? How would we get from Coronado Springs to AK Lodge? And how long travel time if we went Boma?

Thank you!

I think most boys of those ages would prefer seeing real animals at AK Lodge. There are great viewing opportunities at AKL (although not from within Boma) and I think the overall setting at AK Lodge might be more exciting for them as compared to 1900 PF. The added plus is that Boma is pretty much the best breakfast in WDW. I would choose it over anywhere else unless character dining is an absolute must.

Another option would be to eat at Sanaa, at AK Kidani Village, which DOES offer a view of the animals. Their breakfast is not a buffet, but just quick service with seating in the restaurant. I have not tried Sanaa for breakfast, but every other meal I've had there was good.

If you don't have a car, your best travel option would be cab/uber. Otherwise you'd need to take a bus to another park or and then catch the AKL bus (unless I am mistaken). Resort-hopping does present some challenges when relying on the buses.

Boma. 10000%. We LOVE their breakfast buffet and it's a must do for all of us! The bread pudding French toast is AMAZING! We have done 1900 PF for breakfast and dinner and dinner is way better, IMO.

Thank you both for your input! I think I’m going to make the change!

I am having this exact same dilemma for my last day breakfast (except I didn't book yet since its not my 180 day mark yet) but having a hard time deciding. It's just adults in my party, but I do like some of the characters at the 1900 Park breakfast...but I hear that the food is much better at Boma...and they have Simba waffles which they dont have anywhere else, lol. Tough decision.

Going against the grain here to say that 1900 Park Fare is my favorite breakfast spot in the WDW. The food is very good with made to order omelettes and eggs, smoked salmon and strawberry soup. The characters are great and include the very funny Mad Hatter. Plus you get to visit the beautiful Grand Floridian and can take a delightful boat ride to the MK after you dine. :)

I LOVE BOMA. Really cool resort. Well worth taking a look around and eating! But .....Ive been 3 times now and have not seen an animal yet! Maybe they are still sleeping! My ressies are usually around 8am.

On the plus side both have made to order omelettes. My problem with Boma is the long lines. The servers always say go to the station that has the food you want, but when you do that you get the evil eye from all those that start at the beginning by the carving station. The last time I was there, a young boy was rolling around on the floor with his blanket by our table, and the adults in his party were just sitting at the table laughing. My experience at 1900 PF a week ago was much more pleasant.
