Boma opening

Someone else said they waiter from Topolinos said he was returning to Boma in 2 weeks, so it all sounds about right! I just hope its not the same family style as other places. The best thing about Boma was the variety of options.

Totally agree. Probably a skip for us if it is family-style - The diversity and variety were such a strong point. For us, it was a really convenient and low-risk way to get kids to sample things they would never have thought to try.

Buffets were perfect for our family with one vegan , two vegetarians and one meat eater. We could all find something to eat and variety. With all the buffets changing to family style the choice becomes very limited and just not worth the price tag.
I really really hope it’s a buffet still but I doubt it will be.

I would love to see it stay a buffet, but have a serving line and go down the line and they put it on your plate. Before Covid, I hated buffets because of all of the people touching the serving spoons, licking their fingers and touching things, etc. I love Boma. Crossing my fingers for something good.

ITA do you think Disney is willing and able to staff a CM served buffet?

SO... assuming Boma IS reopening on 8/20, when should I start stalking an ADR? Our trip is 8/18-8/23!

Boma has so many options I don't see how they could do it family style. Perhaps give a list of items to choose from and than prepare your plate?

It would be wonderful if Boma returned especially with the Pods!

Read somewhere else that AKL CM won’t speculate anymore but that the space appears to be getting ready. I would expect an announcement this week if it is indeed returning on the 20th.

I hope this is true. I also hope it opens as a buffet and not merely a family style meal. We really want to eat there again.
I’ve heard someone say a Cape May CM said Boma will be the first buffet to reopen as a buffet and Cape May is supposed be the second buffet (they will be converting back to buffet.)

This is, of course, just rumor.

I don’t know that they have to do a CM served buffet. They’re doing a pre-pandemic style, guests serve themselves buffet at Storyteller’s Cafe in Disneyland. So they could choose to do the same at Boma.

They can simply put hand sanitizing stations at the entrance to the buffet line ( of course, modifying it to make sure you enter only at one place) and require you to sanitize your hands before touching any utensils. And I know that if I were to go to a buffet, I’d definitely be sanitizing my hands before eating anyway.

I'm watching this like a hawk, hoping to get an ADR for the 20th, 21st, or 22nd. We miss Boma SO much!!!

Seems like hand sanitizer options along with wearing a mask while in line at the buffet would work relatively safely for all. I'm with most of you - sooooo looking forward to the REAL Boma coming back!

Ate at Sanaa yesterday, stopped at Joharis treasures for zebra domes. Guy working there and I started talking about how much we love them and how I wished Boma would be open. He covered his name tag and said “you didn’t hear it from me, but we are supposed to be open on August 20th”. So, we will see.
What amazing news. I have been to Disney 3 times in the last year & Boma is what I have missed the most.

Reservations times opened up :) Just grabbed a breakfast slot for our October trip.
