Boma next?

I have not seen anything on Boma in awhile. Are they next to open? When? Will they disappoint like 'Ohana?

Yup. And when more staff is hired. Its more staffing issues than it is COVID/crowds issue at this point. Tom Bricker guesses it may happen in time for October 1st.

Id say the chance of that is very very low. Family style will be the way for some time.

It is amusing how restaurants respond to the Covid crisis. In my area most of the buffets never stopped being a buffet.

Probably not a lot of Fortune 50 companies that are highly visible and susceptible to frivolous lawsuits operating restaurants in your area I’m guessing.

Until Boma reopens, at least you can get their Bread pudding (Breakfast only) and their Butternut squash soup (I think it's at dinnertime only, although in the past, I used to get it at breakfast) at Mara.

I always had a question about Boma, strangely I never ran into this in other places - there always seems to be a line that's waiting for the meat bar. I've always went around that line because I didn't want anything from there, in essence cutting the line. Is that legit? I feel like I was getting dirty glares but I didn't tell them to not get other things at the buffet. I guess I'm not really sure why people treat Boma more like a cafeteria where you move through the line than a buffet where you just go to what you want.

I’m confused about the bread pudding! The bread pudding I remember having at Boma had no raisins and a pecan caramel sauce. And it was to die for. Mara bread pudding had two raisins and a vanilla sauce. Maybe it’s a version that wasn’t available when I went?

Anyway I was all about a family style Boma reopening but after seeing the CM, Cape May, Tusker House, Ohana and Sebastian’s menus I am fine to let this baby stay closed until they can bring back the actual buffet.
