Boma next?

I always had a question about Boma, strangely I never ran into this in other places - there always seems to be a line that's waiting for the meat bar. I've always went around that line because I didn't want anything from there, in essence cutting the line. Is that legit? I feel like I was getting dirty glares but I didn't tell them to not get other things at the buffet. I guess I'm not really sure why people treat Boma more like a cafeteria where you move through the line than a buffet where you just go to what you want.
I do the same thing.

Isn't it more likely than not? I also agree with your comment about changing things for the better! This applies to ride makeovers too.
I feel optimistic about dining at akl coming back strong when it does come back. Unlike ohana or tusker house, akl dining needs to outperform to get people interested enough to travel there to eat. While the lodge is amazing, it’s not the most convenient trip if your not staying there.

As an example, I felt sanaa was great still when I went in January. Im not sure how Mara is holding up but I think akl will open food when they do in way that delivers high quality or they will struggle to fill reservations.

In the absence of an official policy, I think your theory makes sense. Seems more pod-based to me.

I’m confused about the bread pudding! The bread pudding I remember having at Boma had no raisins and a pecan caramel sauce. And it was to die for. Mara bread pudding had two raisins and a vanilla sauce. Maybe it’s a version that wasn’t available when I went?

Anyway I was all about a family style Boma reopening but after seeing the CM, Cape May, Tusker House, Ohana and Sebastian’s menus I am fine to let this baby stay closed until they can bring back the actual buffet.

I assumed (actually I think DFB said) it was the same bread pudding as at Boma-and I thought that when I had it, it had vanilla sauce. However, I admit that my memory isn't the best. But like you, I'm sure the Boma bread pudding didn't have raisins. But I have personal experience with the Butternut Squash soup. One evening, I had a sample of the soup during a culinary tour of Boma. As soon as the tour was over, I went to Mara and ordered the soup. Same thing!

I was just reading that Universal is bringing back some of their buffets. So we’ll see how Disney responds. Where one goes, the other usually follows shortly thereafter.
.
Join us every Sunday at The Kitchen from 10:30am–2pm at Hard Rock Hotel® at Universal Orlando. We're serving up a full breakfast buffet, salad bar, carving station and more with bottomless bloody marys and mimosas^, all set against the sounds of a live acoustic performance.
.
Universal ahead of the game again.

I had so much of that butternut squash soup I almost made myself sick. It was dee-licious :lovestruc

Get prepared to be eating more kielbasa. It would actually be funny if they put that on the menu.
Don’t forget roast chicken. I wonder if Disney thinks after a year at home we’ll all just be grateful for chicken and kielbasa (oh, and an after hours halloween party)

The way Ohana and Cape May turned out, I'm not holding my breath on what happens to the menu at Boma. And they may as well serve cubed steak when Yachtsman opens back up.
Just hope it is not the “steak” they had at H&V. I don’t know what it was but it was not tenderloin as advertised. Almost seemed like they took a pot roast and and cooked it medium rare.

Now that everyone can get (good) $5 roast chickens every day at the supermarket it's not the greatest choice. For the steak they probably use lesser cuts of beef and sous vide it.

Fingers crossed that Boma and Jiko will open soon, following the opening of AKL! Boma is a family favorite - we absolutely love trying all of the unique dishes. I wish they would consider keeping the buffet with staff servers rather than self-serve. That doesn't eliminate the lines or crowding, but maybe that will be less of an issue now that Disney has relaxed social distancing.
