Hi everyone! I currently have Boma and Jiko booked for our upcoming Wedding stay next month. We have never eaten at any of these two restaurants and I know that peoples taste vary. We looked at the menus and Jiko looks more appealing. The thing that we are both worried about is does the food here come with lots of sauces or on the sweet side? We are the type of people that if it's meant to be salty we don't want any sweet sauces or flavor to it and we are not "spicy" eaters. Some of the descriptions are giving me the impression that maybe based on our taste, we might not be so fond of these restaurants. We wanted to try something different, but we want to be able to enjoy it. I would really appreciate any input for those of you who have dined at these restaurants and what were the dishes like. Thank you so much! :goodvibes

Boma's food is definitely flavored, many of the offerings are sweet. The pickier eaters in our group are not fond of this place; the adventurous eaters love it.

Jiko is more mainstream food. I've eaten here about a dozen times and except for the ribs that are no longer on the menu, all of the other entrees are pretty tame. Some of the appetizers might be too adventurous but just don't order those. The soups are very very good. Both the adventurous eaters and picky eaters in our family love Jiko.

I think there will be things for you to eat at both places, but there won't be as many selections for you as there might be at say, Citricos or Yachtsman Steakhouse.

A lot of the dishes at these places have contrast - sweet and spicy, sour and sweet, etc. Sounds like it may not be the best option for you.

I would highly recommend heading over to the Dining Report board and looking at peoples reviews of the restaurants. Some reviews will describe things for you in a way that you might be able to determine whether or not you'll like something.

Here's my Jiko review to get you started. I think it may help answer some of your questions:
