Ok, so I am not sure where to go, we have never been to any of these but I like to try new things. The problem is my husband, he asked if there was "American" food at them. Which one is better between Boma, Jiko, and Tusker House?:) I definitely plan to try one of them, I guess if we have to pick up a pizza later we will, but we are only there once a year. We might as well try things.;)

Any chance you could leave your husband at home? ;)

If you must limit your choices, I'd go for one of the buffets (Boma or Tusker House) where there will be something for all tastes.

Jiko is my favorite restaurant at WDW. I would definitley give it a try. The filet and Mac 'n Cheese would meet the requirements for "American" food. It is a wonderful restaurant, with an adult atmosphere, great service and good food.
Good Luck

It depends on what you want. Tusker House and Boma are buffets, and Jiko is fine dining. Drastic difference between them. (Jiko is my favorite restaurant as well)

I would choose Boma. You can be adventurous, and there are "American" options on the buffet. And hopefully he will be a little adventurous too, and find some things he may not have tried but really likes.

This comment is coming from a person very much like your husband and I have tried all three. I am not a fan of Boma's. The reason is because everything to me had too much of a spice. I did however love the desserts at this buffet. I did like Tusker House but this was mainly because they had corn dog nuggets at the kid's station and I love some good corn dog nuggets.

With all of this said, I LOVE Jiko's. I eat the filet and mac n cheese and this is by far the best dish on Disney property that I have ever had, and we have eaten at almost every restaurant since we live here in Orlando.

Jiko's is completely different though and is fine dining, so it will be more espensive but well worth it.

Our picky eaters prefer BOMA because there are enough normal items there. Most of the meat dishes are not spicy unless you add the sauces that are optional on the side. There are several salads that are not "weird". Yes, most of the soups and several of the vegetable dishes are unusual and the picky eaters avoid those. But there are some selections that are plain. And the dessert buffet is great.

Although JIKO is one of my favorites and I love the filet w/mac n cheese, our picky eaters do not like it because of the wine sauce. They have a much harder time at JIKO.

I would definitely pick one of these two at AKL because the lodge is so beautiful and it's a lovely trip over there to eat.

I loved Boma--I was worried that it would be too different but was pleasantly suprised--food was very good--deserts were awesome--:thumbsup2

Wow, sounds like the filet and the mac n' cheese would be something that my husband would like. Maybe he could even order it without the wine sauce, although that sounds really yummy to me. I think that I will probably go ahead and book Jiko. We love the AKL, it really is beautiful. Several years back when we were just killing time waiting to go to the airport, we went around to several of the resorts and AKL was one of them. My husband says that I was planning our next trip before we even left from that trip;) :thumbsup2 , he was right, he doesnt know it but I am always planning the next few trips every time that we go. :yay:

We had the absolute best meal of our trip at Jiko. We had the filet and mac and cheese and it was stupendous! Our group had other more unusual things as well but that was the best. Plus, the service is to die for.

I order the wine sauce on the side. I was afraid I would not like it but I ended up loving the wine sauce. I still prefer it on the side though because I like to control how much is put on it. I chose to try it once with the sauce on it and there was a bit too much for my taste.
