We have always wanted to check out AKL, so I made a 4:30 reservation at Boma after a morning/day at AK. What time should we leave AK to make our reservation and when do you think we would make it back to AK? I thought it might be a good way to take a break from the heat and see AKL. What do you think? Also, what can you tell me about the dinner there. Will my 8 year old like it? Is there a view? Thanks for any advice!

I'd leave the park by 3:30 p.m. and you can wander around the Animal Kingdom lodge and grounds both before and after dinner. I think this is a great plan. You might even be done with everything you want to do in Animal Kingdom by then too and can really take your time, enjoy dinner, and the resort. The resturant is lovely. I don't remember views, but we could see animals when we walked around the grounds. And in the evening they hand out night seeing googles, have story tellers telling stories outside, etc. The lodge is beautiful too -- really spectacular. We've made Boma dinner reservations on three separate trips and went early each and stayed a while after dinner just because we really enjoy the lodge and grounds. (And Disney has standard fare that picky kids eat on the buffet just in case your child is a picky eater. This works out great when some in your party like to try new foods, as Boma caters to both groups.)

when do you think we would make it back to AK?

I am guessing AK will be closed or close to closing time by the time you finish dinner.

No view from the restaurant. The only restaurant that has savanna views from inside is Sanaa.
