Hello,

We will be spending one night in WDW next July, and plan to spend one day at Epcot and one day at Animal Kingdom. We like more leisurely vacations so slowly making our way around the park is the best thing to do. Anyway, I was thinking, since AK will be our departure day, that we will drive from POR to AKL and have breakfast at Boma and walk around AKL. I've never eaten here, much less been in the "lodge", so I have no clue what to expect. Has anybody eaten breakfast here, and what did you think of it? Were the food and service good?

Thanks! :wizard:

I thought the breakfast buffet at Boma was great! Mostly it is your typical breakfast fare with a few African inspired dishes. They have the eggs, ham, breakfast potatoes, sausage, bacon, cereals, and fruit. They also have made to order omlets and "breakfast pizza". You'll also find Bobotie and Brioche.

I would definitely suggest you try the "West African Frunch". It is a blend of juices that is just yummy!

I think you'll enjoy it. I'm not a big breakfast eater, but I loved it. (I just love the AKL and Boma in general though!)

As for service, I've never had any trouble there (aside from waiting awhile to get in despite having an ADR, but that was for dinner and it was packed that night!). Of course, it is a buffet, so you are mostly helping yourself. But I have found the CMs there to be very friendly and on top of things. The buffet is very clean, with fresh foods. The open kitchen area is right there too so you can see what they are doing. In my opinion, it is the best buffet at WDW (and the only one I'll eat at there).

Hi, If you are in no hurry to get to AK then ENJOY a breakfast at BOMA. The food is good (check out the menu) and the AKL is just BEAUTIFUL! Joan

It's a wonderful place for breakfast, so much choice and a wonderful setting. Take a walk out to see the Savannah afterwards.

We ate at Boma on our last trip in August. It was the hands down favorite for my kids. The breakfast is more or less your standard eggs, bacon etc. There are a few african items thrown in. I like the fact that the food is put out in small quantity so it constantly being replenished. The quality of the food was excellent. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

After your meal you can go to the savannah outlook and watch for the animals. We also took a walk around the pool area.

We will, without a doubt, return in the future.
