"Boma is awesome", that is a quote from my picky 7yo nephew after our second breakfast at Boma during our 5 day trip to WDW last summer. We did not stay at AKL, so we took two buses each time, paid cash for the second outing (had free dining plan). I also just ate there on Saturday, last meal of my trip.
My favorite items are french toast(doesn't even need syrup), grilled tomatoes, pap and salsa. They have an omeltte of the day as well make to order. Scrambled eggs can be plain or I had some great chive and goat cheese eggs this past weekend. I'd geneally avoided the bread sweets end of the buffet because I'd already fallen in love with the french toast and didn't want (not do my hips need) other bread items, however I've also fallen for the bran/orange muffins. Nephew loves the chocolate chip muffins. This time I tried what was clearly fresh mixed yogurt, mine had fresh strawberries and bananas added, not "stir fruit on bottom" kind of yogurt, excellent new find. I've generally eaten there after 10am and treated the meal like a brunch.
I strongly suggest you book Boma breakfast and dinner if staying at the lodge.
