Yum! Two huge thumbs up. We all really enjoyed this meal, and two of my children are extremely picky eaters. The food was unique, but not "wild" and it was easy to please a wide variety of tastes. They are especially famous for the zebra domes, so be sure to check them out in the dessert section.
We dined here with 6 people with very different tastes. We all loved it. There's several item on the buffet. All delicous. The curry soup was the best!
DH & I are going back in December. I just have to remember to take smaller samples so I can try more things. Last time, I only tried about 10 different dishes (yes they had to roll me out!). I'm aiming to try a taste of every thing this time.
You should absolutely love it. There is something fro everyone. DH is not an adventurous eater (plain meat and potatoes), DS is a typical kid, while I am the adventurous eater. We all love it. I have to make at least 2 ADRs there for each trip.
I highly recommend it as well! The dinner buffet at Boma is probably one of our top 3 places to eat at WDW, if not #1! Whenever I hear of anyone going to Disney World, that is the first thing I tell them to try! There is so much to chose from, and most of it is out of this world! (I say 'most of it' because there are some funky things on that buffet - watermelon rind salad anyone? I've tried it every time, just to make sure, and I still can't get my self to like it!) I remember there were so many desserts back in January as well. I really recommend the banana bread pudding with vanilla sauce. OMG, that was so heavenly! Oh, and only put a few bites of food on your plate at a time. That way you can try everything and not get too full! You can always go back for seconds if you really like something!
We really enjoyed it. I love the soups, fresh fruit and the desserts in particular. I agree, there is something for everyone. I say give it a try! Oh, and its about worth the trip over just to see the beautiful Animal Kingdom Lodge. We always enjoy arriving early and then looking around the resort, especially the viewing area that is open to everyone.
Ate there for the 1st time in February and LOVED it!! My Boyfriend and I are picky eaters and we both found there were plenty of different selections!! I have an allergy to Cinnamon (weird, I know) and the Head Chef personal came out and went down the ENTIRE buffet line with us to tell me which things have Cinnamon in them (mostly in their Curry sauce), which I thought was absolutely great and such a nice thing to do!! We already have our ADR for when we go back in May and can't wait to eat there again!
Boma is fantastic! The food is always wonderful. Try the Fufu, Zebra Domes, any of the salads, African stew, and any of the soups, especially the chowder. The carving stations are good too.
Another big yes from us. We went there on our last trip and it was our favorite meal. Lots of different things to try and I loved all the unusual (at least to us) seasonings. We definitely plan to return.
We LOVE LOVE LOVE Boma... so much in fact we're eating there twice this vacation! Maybe even 3 times if we can get an impromptu ADR, and decide we haven't had enough yet!! ha ha
We also loved Boma. I was surprised at how many of the dishes seemed familiar until I thought about it. I am from the South and many of our dishes originated, I am sure, with the slaves from...Africa!! We ate gumbo, dishes similar to cole slaw, corn bread and hush puppies. And the fu-fu was a sweet potato dish. Take small samples of everything. I took about 2-3 tablespoons at the most and was able to go back 3 times and I usually dont feel like I get my monies worth at a buffet because I fill up so fast. There are some standard things like the roast beef and mac and cheese but most everything else is different. Not so different that you would not like it.
