I have a friend that lives in Orlando and she loves Boma. However, we are entirely different types of eaters! She eats more healthy and exotic foods than what I do. To give you an idea, our two must do's are Ohana and Chef Mickey's. I am considering booking Boma, but if I'm being honest, pictures of
the food looks like a mess thrown on a plate. (No offense to those who like it)
So I'm curious to know what my fellow DIS'ers think of Boma.

Thanks
:goodvibes

I  Boma! So does my DM. I have yet to get DH and DD there. Maybe next time?

I ate breakfast there in June. The best breakfast we've ever had! We're going to try dinner when we go back. I'm sure it's good. :thumbsup2

We ate at Boma on a whime last Saturday. My overall thought on it was it was a one time try for me. My husband really liked it, but I didn't find enough to eat there for myself and picky kids. (DS8, DD4) I too, will stick to Chef Mickey's, Ohana and the Turf Club.

We loved Boma. Try the butternut squash soup. Give it a try you will find something you like there is so much variety. Don't even hesitate.

Yay, responses!!! If someone could, please explain what type of foods they have. I've seen the menu on allears, but a description would be better than just a list.

We really enjoy Boma. The sweetpea loves it there. And her idea of a perfect meal is Kraft Mac and Cheese. But she enjoys trying the different things, even if its just for a polite bite. And she loves the place itself. It is definately on our yummy list.

I don't like it. We LOVE it! My ex is a really picky eater--I'm talking hamburgers, hotdogs, steak, 'taters', Mexican food only type of guy, but even he loves it. The buffet is on a rotation and on certain nights they have really good ribs. They also have prime rib, I believe. The kids section has your typical American food. I can easily make a meal on their soups. My mom loves their salads and we all love their desserts. When I was there in Dec I ate at Jiko and enjoyed it, but found I really prefer Bomas.

We tried it for the first in October - I was also a little wary but we all loved it & found plenty to eat that was tasty.:)

I will give my opinions on Boma. We went with a group of High School graduates one year, overall everyone was happy with it. I don't think anyone felt that it was to die for, but good. Our favorite part was the desserts. I am a pretty basic eater (Chili's is my favorite restaurant...lol) so I didn't find all the exotic foods that appealing, but they were good. I had my fill and would go again, but don't feel it is a must do. It was a little high on price for how much enjoyment I got out of it.

I would recommend going, it is definitely a good experience and I think it is one of those things you have to try for yourself! :upsidedow

Boma's is a "must do" at least every other trip for me. My parents dragged me there kicking and screaming the year it opened and since then it has been one of my favorites. I am normally a picky eater and could live on Forzen Pizza, but this is one restaraunt to step out of the box for. The different types of meats are scrumpcious, as are the soups. You should definetly try it at least once and if for some reason you decide that you don't like it get food from the kids section. It has your usual mac and cheese and chicken fingers. Make sure you try a little bit of everything first it might surprise you!

We also love Boma  one of my fav restaurants!
As Boma is a buffet you can put what ever you want on on your place (hence the messy looking pictures lol) and there is plenty to choose from!
If you dont fancy trying exotic food there is the usual kids foods on the buffet and the food on the meat section didnt seem too unusual when i went... pork, i think.
The soups are amazing, id reccomend trying all of them, none of them i disliked also the deserts are soooo good, im a zebra dome fan! they also have fruit, pastries, cakes, cookies, bread pudding and more (the menu changes daily)
The Potatoes with Afritude are good, like spicy potato wedges and the salads are worth trying. I will tell you that i realy didnt like a couple of items tho, i think it was fufu and Bobotie (not certain) but one was like white slopy stuff, like desert with tomatoe on top and the other was also like desert but with meat in it, for me not good but i bet its to some other peoples tastes...
dont let that put you off because for the few items you dont like, you'll find plenty which you do :thumbsup2

Yuck, yuck and thrice yuck! I absolutely hated Boma. We have done it twice now and arent picky eaters. In fact we love lots of ethnic foods. The soup which was a bowl of foul water and sausage was inedible. The prime rib (which I know can be fatty) was just fat and gristle and the desserts a total let down. Topped off with poor service for a second time, we never want to go again. I went the second time because I thought my experience was a one off but the second time was even worse.

Our family loves Boma. My kids are 12,8,& 7) & they love to eat there. The food is very good & not so adventurous that it wierd or not something you would try. It is also nice to take in the atmosphere of the AKL after dinner. There are public viewing spots to see the animals & many things to see in the lobby. We love it there.

We ate at Boma last Septmeber with a party of 12. I booked based on all of the great reviews here. Every one in out party thought the food was horrible. We ended up eating mostly kids chicken strips. I can not think of one thing I enjoyed off of the buffet. Everyone in our group said they would never go back. It seemed as if everything was flavored with the same spice, and I did not like it.

We have eaten at alot of Disney restaurants. Our favorite by a mile is Ohana. We thought everything was fabulous. We also enjoy Chef Mickey. If I were you I would definetly skip Boma.

We really like Boma also!

I'm not really picky, but there are things I don't like (onions and peppers, to start!), and I've always found plenty at Boma. The coucous is really good, I love the fufu(?--like sweet potato casserole), the soups are good (especially the pumpkin one, and the butternut squash), there were roasted? veggies, the potatoes with afritude, so much to choose from!

And, don't forget the desserts.....zebra domes!

Boma is on our must-do list for the third time.

i like it
i didnt think i would the first time i tried it cause im really picky about what i eat but i really enjoyed i love the zebras domes :]
