...and you can have a drink ahead of time and then afterwards walk out thru the lobby and check out the animals roaming around....

.... THERE WERE ANIMALS ROAMING AROUND IN THE LOBBY??!?!? Or perhaps, you THOUGHT there were, due to that drink you had.....
...but seriously, Boma is a wonderful place to experience and try foods which otherwise you would not have that opportunity to.....yes, I agree you should make an ADR for Boma, and plan to spend at least 3 hours at AKL. After dinner, you can see the animals through night-vision googles. They are located at the far end of the pool [to the left], where the guides are situated.
