Boma breakfast vs. Ohana

We did Ohana when it was family style. But reservations have been unavailable for us so far and I grabbed a Boma breakfast. Now I am thinking of keeping it, even if Ohana opens up, because it would be something new to try. How do the two breakfasts compare?

Edit to add, we are two adults. Characters don't matter. Just looking for a tasty breakfast to enjoy why will kill time on our last morning. Cost isn't really a concern either, since it's just the two of us.

Ohana has always been family style. I would say Boma for more variety.
Interesting. I thought it was only a pandemic thing (like Biergarten), because it looked like they had a serving space for a buffet. My memory must be wrong.

Biergarten was superior as family style. For some reason, the food tasted better. Glad to hear Ohana is always family style, for the next time we go back. I like it more than the buffets, but sill would like to try Boma's breakfast buffet.

I have eaten breakfast at Ohana two or three times and have never been impressed. We only returned because of Stitch. I have eaten breakfast at Boma only once. It was very good, but we tend to save Boma for an evening meal (or two), since Boma dinner is, hands down, my family’s favorite. Kona is my breakfast choice.

Breakfast wise, I prefer Boma over O'hanas. Boma has a much greater variety. I do enjoy O'hana's for dinner but for breakfast, you are basically paying for the atmosphere.

Literally was just about to write a thread on Boma. I'm not a big breakfast person, but we just ate there a few days ago, and I was seriously overwhelmed with all the selection and choices. It was WELL worth the money, and somewhere we will absolutely visit again. I would say try to book something earlier in the AM--I think we booked 7:30, and had pretty easy access to the buffet. Around 8:30 or so, that line was PACKED.

Where are you coming from? We have an ADR for Nov, but we are staying at AKL. I don't know if I would travel there for breakfast unless I was planning to go to AK from there. More concern about the buses or lack of than about the food.

But then I'm old and cranky.

Coronado Springs tower (we love staying there). But we have a car and it's pretty easy to drive and park at Animal Kingdom lodge. It's our last morning with a late-day flight. So we can go and take our time and walk around the hotel a bit after. Should be a nice way to spend some time before the flight.

That is a wonderful idea. We love sitting around the fireplace in the lobby. Lots of places to look at animals. Perfect ending to a trip.

We have a late afternoon flight home, so I’m considering an early lunch or late breakfast before we leave for the airport. Have you had late-morning ADRs at Boma? How crowded is it? MDE says it’s open for breakfast until 11:00, so I thought we’d make an ADR for the latest time we could get.

This is exactly what we will be doing this Sunday. Except we are staying at the Poly. (I feel a little like we are betraying the Poly! LOL!!!) We did Ohana for breakfast back in February (when we were staying at AKV!) and really enjoyed it, but we love Boma. We also want to spend some time at AKV before we leave.

I haven't. The only available time for us is 9:30. I am hoping it won't be too bad, since maybe people will want to eat earlier and go to the parks, but that could be wishful thinking.

Boma has always been our final “Boo Hoo Breakfast.” We have a leisurely breakfast, then wander the building, and finally, settle on some rocking chairs on one of the decks to watch the animals. They have now changed our train schedule so that it leaves closer to 5 rather than 2. So it might be the day-before event, but we always always do (at least) one Boma breakfast.

Oh my goodness-- I love your phrase, "Boo Hoo Breakfast"! Totally stealing that :-) We started doing that years ago to lessen the sadness of the last morning-- but from here forward, it will officially be known as our "Boo Hoo Breakfast"!!!!
