Boma Atmosphere Question...

Question...I made reservations for an "adults only" dinner at Boma to surprise dh. I know he'll love the food. But, just so *my expectations are what they should be...we have a 7:40 reservation in December. Will it be too dark to view the savannah areas? I see that the outside edges of the restauraunt are windows...do those look out over the animal areas? Thanks!!

It will be pretty dark out, but they have night vision binoculars or some such to see animals at night (we never used them because it was always too early in the evening when we went to Boma).

There are windows in the restaurant, but they don't look over a savannah. The atmosphere in the restaurant is bustling, not romantic or anything.

Boma does not overlook the savanna (none of the food places do - they are all near the pool). Most people plan to arrive early and go out to Arusha rock or around to the other viewing areas. Also, the CMs at the overlook by the hot tub have night vision goggles you can use to see the animals at night. It is a pretty fun thing to do.

Boma is not quiet; Jiko is the quieter of the 2 restaurants. You might want to ask to be seated near the windows - a bit quieter than being in the middle of the restaurant.

Thanks! No, I wasn't looking for quiet and romantic so that works well! We'll try the night vision goggles if we can find that overlook.
