Boma and ADL ?s

Hi fellow dissers,
DH and I want to see the animals with the night goggles and wander around AKL. Right now we have dinner ADRs for 8pm in Aug. I'm wondering if I should change them to 7 and view animals after we eat, or if 8 is good for viewing them before we eat? What do you all think?

Are you guys staying at AKL? I know that it isn't a problem to wander around and look at the animals after you eat because we did that last year and then decided to book AKL for this year. However I thought that only resort guests could sign up to use the night vision goggles. If you can't use the goggles you would probably want to eat earlier so that you can see the animals before it gets too dark.

If you are not staying at AKL (my home resort as a DVC member), I'd suggest changing your ADR time to something earlier. Consider 6 or 7 and visit 30 minutes or so before you eat. They do have nightvision goggles, but I am not sure if non-resort guests can use them. There are plenty of viewing areas otherwise and it is nice to walk around there at night.

Hi. We are staying at POR. Mmm. Now I wonder if I have things mixed up in my mind re: nightvision goggles since we'd looked at staying at AKL at one point. Maybe I'm confusing it all. In any case, I'll switch to earlier ADRs and then check and see if we can bring some ourselves. Wonder if kid versions from discovery store online or something like that would work but be less expensive. Mmmmmmm.

BTW, how wonderful is it to have DVC for AKL? We've considered DVC and if we do it, we'd want AKL. Maybe we'll need to spend some time with that while we are there - chatting w/CM for DVC, etc.
