Boma - 2 nights in a row

Is this too much? I originally have us booked for Boma on Sat. night when my parents fly in to join us for the week. DH and me and our two DD's had to fly in a day earlier (flight was acutally cheaper INCLUDING an extra day at AKL to come in a day earlier). We decided to take the day and relax before my parents get there. I booked dinner that night for Boma as well so we wouldn't have to leave the resort. But is that too much Boma? I think they change the menu daily but I haven't seen a recent menu rotation. Should I just try and book something else (CM or something fun) instead?

I love Boma and we're dining there twice on our trip, but about 6 nights apart (we're also staying at AKL).

There's a large selection at the buffet, but if you had a taste of every dish the first night, you may be bored on your second night. However if you save certain dishes to try on your second night (I'm pretty sure the salads and desserts don't change too often), then there should be enough variety for two meals.

We're also dining there twice for convenience reasons. We arrive quite late our first night, so don't really want to leave the resort, then are dining there again to experience it fully later in the trip.

We absolutely love Boma. I would not mind going there twice in a row. They change the selections each night so there is always a new variety of foods. This includes the side dishes, meats, and desserts.


With this being said, I would also consider Jiko. The food at both places is absolutely fantastic!

Once every few years is enough for me.

I have done Chef Mic's sometime 3 nights in a row and loved it. So if you like it why not!

Boma ADR's 2 nights in a row is no problem. While you're there the first night it will be real convenient to cancel the 2nd night.

No, I haven't tried Boma yet which is why I'm wondering how two nights in a row would be for dinner.
I have tried Jiko and LOVED it, but we will have our 2 little girls and I felt it was a bit adult for kids?? THoughts?

We LOVE Boma's and is a must do every vacation. That being said I would NOT go two days in a row. I dont think you will enjoy it as much the second night. I would eat there twice but not twice in a row. why not pick another restaurant for one of the nights

My family and I have once gone to Boma for dinner two different times while at WDW. The only difference is we went 1 or 2 days later after the first meal we had there.

Bob NC - Thanks for the suggestion. I thought about cancelling the 2nd night if we didn't feel like it but since my parents want to eat there we are kinda firm for that second night (that is when they arrive).

Boardwalk Tigger - I think you might be right. Hmmm... Where to eat our first night then? It is the Friday after Thanksgiving so I am sure LOTS will be booked.

What about switching Boma to Kona for the first evening? How do they compare?

Why not go to 'Ohana instead of Kona? Definitely a better experience.

That said, Boma's different every night, so it wouldn't be the worst to hang out in the resort and experience the restaurant twice in a row.

Being that you've never eaten there before, I would definitely cancel one of your ADR's. The food is different there, and therefore not to everyone's liking. I loved it but my DH absolutely hated it. Why take the chance? There's so many nice restaurants just a Disney bus ride away!

DH loves anything meat, so he is happy just about anywhere. I like exotic foods and I don't eat meat (except fish)! DH would LOVE all the meat at Ohana's but it seems awfully expensive for a veggie/fish eater like me. And I don't know if the girls (2 and 4) would like the food there either?

Your girls would love 'Ohana! They don't have to eat what you are eatting. They can order chicken fingers, hot dogs, grilled cheese, PBJ... Just let the server know when you sit down you are getting something different for the girls. They are welcome to still eat what everyone else is eatting too. As for you could say your a vegatarian. I've heard they will make something else for you. The food is so good there and it is just so much fun! My family has a ball. My dh and I have a nice meal to enjoy while the kids are playing the games. Give it a try

How about Jiko the first night and than you can still stay at AKL. Or you could eat a DTD restaurant like the rain forest, wolf gang puck etc... and do a little shopping on your first night.

Are you staying at the AKL or in a timeshare with your inlaws? I'm confusedI would go to dinner at a resort restaurant if you have a car for the first night.It is easier to get in and out the first night than a restaurant in the parks. If you are off property then maybe you could eat near the timeshare . If staying at the AKL I would try a Disney resort restaurant. How about Cape May or Spoodles . You can park right at the resort and have a great meal. Cape May has plenty of kid food ( great chicken fingers, pizza, mini hot dogs mac and cheese plus they can pick anything else from the buffet. Plenty of dessert there too. There are meat dishes and fish dishes. Spoodles is also a greta choice if you like different food. Only negative is it is an open kitchen and can be a little noisy. We eat there every trip. The Boardwalk is nice to stroll on in the evening. Just a thought!

I would not do Boma 2 nights in a row. When do you get in that day? It is a bugger since AKL is not really close to anything else, haha.... though I do think Rainforest Cafe (DTD or AK) would be fun, though not very "Disney". I think DTD would be easiest for you all if you aren't planning on going to a park, or an MK resort (due to monorail convenience), so Ohana would be fun. CM isn't the greatest food but it is fun, though do you want buffets 2 nights in a row? You could try the 1900 PF character dinner at the GF.
