Bogo Food Reports many w/pics NEW: PG 6 Chefs & Ohana's

I love dining reviews I think I'm subscribed to nearly all of them obviously got far to much time on my hands :rotfl2:

I can hardly keep up with my own TR...let alone all of teh food reports! After I am done with my TR, I too will be int he super duper planning...drooling stages.

I sure am glad you got yourself a little job, woman!:)

LeCellier- Epcot~Canada

The wait staff was ready to seat us almost immediately. The room is dark…very dark. We were escorted to a table in the front portion of the room…smack dab in the middle. I asked if it was a possibility to sit at one of the side tables, but the hostess would have none of that. I like to sit out of the way a tich, just a tich. That way WHEN Tink acts like…well, TINK, we aren’t the complete center of attention. Get my drift.

Our waiter came out immediately and offered to break bread with us. Well maybe he just offered up some bread sticks. Yummy bread sticks. I had read so much about this restaurant, that I pretty much new what we were all going to order before we took a step inside.

But at this point in the day, my DH & I needed a drink. Ya…NEEDED a drink! Not of water either. :drinking1

DH ordered a nice glass of Merlot to be delivered with dinner and a dirty martini for NOW…the as fast as you can get it to me, NOW.

I ordered this little concoction. Noted on the menu as the Happiest Place on Earth something or another…

PICT1034.jpg

As soon as it came, eyes were ON IT! That is 4 little eyes…batting their long leashed lids and using their super powers to get what ever it was inside of my drink that was glowing!

I promised, that when I drank it, then and only then they could have the glowing cube. (Do you see my mistake yet?)

So Lil’l Diz started in on me…immediately.

Mom, have you tasted it?

Yes, honey. It is really good.

Do you really like it mom?

Yep.

Are you going to drink it all mom?

Un huh.

Can I have the glower first mom?

Insert brakes coming to a complete halt…FAST!

Momma did not think that one through. 1 glowing cube-of blue-spectacle of fun for 2 kiddos. = No Go!

Just then our appy’s were being delivered, so I asked our nice server for another cube of glowing blue, ASAP…please. He was happy to help us out. For a mere $5 for the cube.

My Dh had The Prince Edward Island Mussels - served chowder style with Applewood smoked bacon and potatoes. Rating: A-

PICT1036.jpg

I had the Grilled Beef Tenderloin Kabob - with roasted vegetable and orzo salad, and smoked tomato coulis. Rating: B (cold & not too much flavor)

PICT1035.jpg

We ordered the House Soup specialty, Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup for our ds’s appy, but we served it to Tink. She LOVED IT! I tasted it and yep…it was very good. Rating: A

I am not a big fan of mushrooms, but DH likes them, so I talked him into ordering the Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon - Baby Bella wild mushroom risotto, white truffle and herb butter sauce, topped with fried parsnips. Rating: A+
Seriously, this meal melted in your mouth. Melted…I wanted to trade my dh, so bad! Guess what…he did share quite a bit with me. Nice guy!:love1:

PICT1038.jpg

I always get stuck with the worse of the meals, no matter where we are. I ordered the Filet Mignon - glazed with maple barbecue sauce and accompanied by cream cheese mashed potatoes. Rating: B+
For sure this was a great meal. The mash was YUMMO! Ohhh man, they were great! In fact I made them recently and ohh boy… (bad for the body though…)

PICT1037.jpg

For dessert Lil’l Diz had the Build your own Ice-Cream Sundae. A sundae…what kid doesn’t love that? Lil’l Diz loves melted ice cream, so he always stirs it until it is melted and calls it PLUTO JUICE. Not sure where he got that from...but it is his.

PICT1040.jpg

I really enjoyed the Maple Creme Brule w/caramelized maple sugar. Being a huge Crème Brule fan…I get it regularly when we dine out. This little spin with the maple was for sure a favorite version! Rating: A

PICT1042.jpg

My Dh got the Chocolate Cake, which he felt was really nothing to write home about. Rating: C

PICT1041.jpg

For beverage, they allow you to get one of their smoothies, in replacement of a soda. DH & Lil’l guy each got one and I got one for Tink. No pictures, as they disappeared fairly fast. Dh & Lil’l Diz drank theirs. Tink on the other hand…well…

Tink threw hers…on the floor. Go figure!:rolleyes1

Here Tink is enjoying her new glowing ice cube...directly from my Martini to her mouth...

Just kidding...What Kind of mom do you think I am?;)

Unlike other places (to be named later) they have yummy warm cheese sauce

I know where that is ;)

Loved your reviews, although I disagree about EOS - we loved it. But then wouldn't life be boring if we all liked the same thing ;)

Gee...does that mean I will need to order THREE cocktails to get a cube for each of the kiddos??!! OK, maybe 2 for me...one for Mom...(DH is a beer only man).

Impatiently waiting for more!!!popcorn::

I love your reports! Your sense of humor is a lot of fun to read as well!

I know what you mean about the Fanta. I spent a summer in Spain after school and became addicted to the Fanta naranja and limon (I would give many, many pennies to taste the limon again!). It was so much lighter than the American orange soda.

I laughed out loud at your description of meatloaf as warm wet cat food...:rotfl: Priceless!!!

I also loved your description of EOS - I love the food but compained a tiny bit to DH about the service this past trip. I totally know what you mean.

I am happily subscribing!

Loving your reviews :thumbsup2 Those mussels look so good. Le Cellier is the first place I had those and Creme Brulee. I'm now hooked on both.

Oh no... were you bummed toom when you went for the sauce...and it was...GONE!?

You are totaly correct...we all have our opinion...what a boring world this would be if we were all the same.

Stay away from those drinks...they are everywhere. Or maybe you could order a few cubes of light and bring them with?

Hey...haven't I been reading your TR...over...there? :)

Do you remember when they had a a European version of Fanta in the Cool Station at EPCOT..or what ever it is called now or then...?

Creme Brulee ... don't you just like saying that? Yummbrulee...

I, myself am not as willing to eat anything...but my DH...IS, CAN & WILL!

Sorry you didn't enjoy Earl of Sandwich; it's actually my favorite place to eat at Disney. The service is spotty and it does take a bit to get used to the confusing ordering system.

We get Fanta limon (aka Lemon Fanta) over here in the UK - it is lovely but needs to be served ice cold or it is just too sweet.

I am really, really looking forward to Le Cellier - with every review I read, the place just sounds better and better. Weren't you missing a breadstick though :confused3

Lovely review Jen I love Tink with the glow cube are you sure you wiped all the alcohol off, did she sleep well that night :rotfl2:

I sure am glad you got yourself a little job, woman!:)
Me job? :confused3 I had my interview to play golf not to work there :)

Chef Mickey's ~ Contemporary Resort

Again, this is a review of our experience. The camera never left our table to take pictures, because I was just to scared to miss any characters (I figured it out later in our trip).

When we arrived, the CM Host gave us the little blinky gadget, and told us to have a seat it would be a few minutes. As we walked away to find a seat, the gadget began its job and started blinking and buzzing like crazy. Why they even bother giving out those little things sometimes, is beyond me. :confused3

We did the traditional pose with the Giant plate, in attempt to get a good photo of our family. Ya, right…nodda chance!

As soon as we were seated our friends started to join us! What fun we had! First up was Donald.

PICT1000.jpg

Then came the Mouse.
PICT1003_1.jpg

PICT1005_1.jpg

Tink though she could sign like the Mouse...

PICT1007.jpg

After a few tries, I got a picture with BOTH children looking in the same direction...and at the camera!

PICT1012.jpg

Because the our friends were coming so fast, it made it very difficult to get food for 4. But we did...just really fast! It is my suggestion, when you go to any of these character meals to be prepared to either eat a lot first...then wait for the characters to come by or be prepared to sit and snap photo's, running in between to grab food. It turns into a challenge...but the whoel experience is GREAT!

Then these 2 guys joined our fun:

When then had to join in on a bit of-

If you haven't been to Chef Mickey's I highly recommend it! It is quite a fun place. Every 15-20 minutes the Characters all come together for a song or two and everyone stands up and dances, waving their dirty napkins in the air! Pure fun!

We have been for dinner both times and the buffet has been good. There are a lot of choices for everyone in the family. From hot dish style concoctions to prime rib, roasted chicken, and a great kids food bar w/ all of the traditional kids fixins (mac, chix fingers...). The main food attraction has got to be the desert buffet. What a buffet it is! Ice Cream with toppings of every kind; sprinkles, gummies, crushed cookies, m&m's. There are cakes, cookies, cobblers & pies...oh my! You can eat until you are ill. If you want. I didn't though.

My DS loves to make his own sundae here...seriously it is the best sundae fixin bar I have EVER seen! What a great way to end a meal...

Last but not least Minnie Joined us. This was by far a highlight. Tink just about melted in her arms... She really made our Chef Mickey experience great! She hung out for along time, comparing dress' with Tink, hugging and cuddling her.

PICT1021.jpg

I made sure to send a 'Thank You' through her yellow vested CM guard, on our way out.

If you have small fries...please don't miss CM's...It is really a great time!

EDITED TO ADD:
Be aware...Those pictures we took with the giant plate before we entered come back to attack you...attack your pocket book that is. Again, they are a mear $30. We didn't get them though...have yet to get one from here, we always looking rather frumpy. Maybe it is because we come here after touring WDW until we are frumpified...

Can I borrow your little ones next time I go to LeCellier? I need an excuse to order multiple glow-tinis! I LOVED it.;) I also LOVED the mussells there, dipping the pretzel bread in the chowder sauce was super YUMMO!!

Chef Mickeys looks like a lot of fun - your kids are just precious :) Did your poor DS have a black eye or was he just really tired :confused3

Lovely review Jen I love Tink with the glow cube are you sure you wiped all the alcohol off, did she sleep well that night :rotfl2:

Me job? :confused3 I had my interview to play golf not to work there :)

I swear no liquor for Tink...she passes out just fine on her own, from pure exhaustion...from me chasing her around!

No, playing golf everyday is not a job? who would a thunk?:confused3

Weren't you missing a breadstick though :confused3

Did your poor DS have a black eye or was he just really tired :confused3

I thought we were supposed to have more bread! :rotfl:

Why yes...that was a shiner:) You can read all about it...somewhere else:)

:lmao: I am sure they will let you have as many as you want! Just order them for everyone at the table...then drink them before they can!

Jen I love the photos of your kiddies twirling their napkins, DH and DD are booked into CM's whilst I go to Kona with T, V, LL and K :)

AAAAIIIGGHH!!! Color me insanely jealous!!! That drink was just so good!!

Love the review of Chef Mickeys - I am so with you on the frustration of eating around the character visits. We used to do so many character meals for DS and it would drive me crazy. But the photos and autographs and memories are so worth it, aren't they??

I love Tink's dress - did you make that?? So cute!

I'm off to read your TR. Our little guy began our trip with a shiner on his upper eyelid from an accident at daycare. In the week before the trip he looked like he had perfectly applied purple eyeshadow on his one eye...:rotfl: I need to go read how your Dis guy got his.

Why yes...that was a shiner:) You can read all about it...somewhere else:)

Now I'm confused - I'm reading your trippy too but haven't come across that yet I don't think. Right, now I'm gonna have to go back and read it again :confused3
