We have an ADR for 12/9 during the MVMCP at BOG. We have eaten here, and the food was really good. I made the ADR during my 180 day mark. I was now looking at the dinner menu for Ohana. DS would love the food they have. I've been trying to make an ADR, but everything is booked. I'm on the cancellation thread to hopefully land a reservation. Kind of kicking myself for this one. I know that things do open as people finalize their plans. I'm looking for some feedback regarding whoever have eaten at both places, and which do they prefer. Thanks!

I'd keep checking for reservations, multiple times a day if you can. I've always gotten what i wanted by being persistent. Also keep checking even up to the day before and the day of. People cancel the day before all the time to avoid the penalty. Having said that, I much prefer BOG over Ohana. I didnt like the food quality at Ohana....slimy wings, dry potstickers, dry noodles, dry meat (and this was for a 530pm ADR!). I wasnt a big fan. i'd stick with the BOG ADR. If you happen to get an ohana adr and are curious, then you should give it a try. Esp if you say your son would love the menu. This restaurant gets a lot of love from other guests. Its quite popular!

I wouldn't spend part of a party dining. It's a big time suck for a hard-ticket event.

While we love 'Ohana and have never been to BOG (but will get there next month), I would not give up party time to eat at either place. If your reservations for BOG are early enough, fine - and not sure if you will be in the park that day or not, but you can enter with your party ticket at 4:00. The party is for a limited amount of hours and I would not take party time away to eat at a sit down restaurant.

Are you going to the MVMCP on 12/9? As others have said, I wouldn't personally waste party time with an ADR, but it's up to you :-)

I've done both dinner at BOG and Ohana... If your family are Beauty and Beast fans, the theming at BOG is amazing! And the ambiance at dinner is better than lunch (at you can take a picture with Beast). I like the food better at Ohana for dinner, though this is of course personal preference. Also has a fun atmosphere, though not themed to a particular movie like BOG, and you can watch the electrical water parade from Poly.

I would do both at some point :-)

Yes, we're going to MVMCP on 12/9. We'll be arriving to the park between 5 pm and 6 pm, so we could still dine at a sit down without wasting time. DS and I are the only two traveling on this trip. So we wanted to try some different eating places where we normally wouldn't go with my DW who's a picky eater. We have been to BOG, and thought the experience was wonderful. The food was really good. That's why I was planning to eat their again. Plus it's in the MK. But I know that DS would love the menu better at Ohana's. We're not concerned about losing time at the party. We've been before, and know what we're planning to hit on that night.

If you've already been to BOG for dinner and aren't concerned about losing party time (+ monorail travel time), I would try Ohana!

While I also would not book TS at all after 4 pm when attending an MK party - I'd recommend staying in the park. O'hana meals can run long - and you still have to get back over to MK. If you want different food - did you look at Skipper Canteen?

Thanks for the input. I did take a look at that menu, and not really crazy about it. Plus the available times were earlier than we can get to the park. But thanks for the suggestion.

I've eaten at both and prefer Ohana...keep checking each day...it's worth the time. And if you are lucky to be there during the fireworks, the windows offer a magical view...good luck!

Thanks. I've been checking numerous times. I've also put in a search through Touringplans with my subscription as well. My 60 days mark is coming up on Monday, so hopefully some cancellations will be opening soon!

Just scored an Ohana dinner ADR on 12/9. DS is going to be really excited. Can't wait to tell him when he gets home from school today. :yay:
