BOG - so far out of the loop I'm looking for Fastpasses, help!

Apparently it's been a while since I checked out BOG info. At some point they started breakfast and I see that you can make dining reservations for B, L, & D now. While it'd be neat to see the inside, I'm really only interested in trying the "grey stuff" as I heard it was, indeed, delicious. So my plans had been to just try for a lunch FastPass... and now I'm all confused

Since I'm so far behind I have not been able to pull up any good info through searching.

So really my most important question is

A. Can you get the cupcake with the grey stuff anywhere else in the parks?

followed by
B. Is Lunch still QS? I assume Breakfast would be QS too (if QS still exists)
C. Any availability for walk ups? If so, when's the best times to check? (end of breakfast, middle of lunch, end of lunch, etc)

We were there in 2014 and was going to walk up but stupidly got out of the lunch line for a couple minutes and when we got back they were full up. We had other touring to do and never got back round to try again. So trying the quest again for the grey stuff in a couple months and am quite out of the loop :) DIS assistance much appreciated!

A. No
B. Breakfast and Lunch are QS and BOTH require an ADR
C. No walkups

D. No more FastPasses
E. Even with an ADR you can order just cupcakes

If your 180 days for reservation is now in the past, your best bet will be to periodically try to get a BOG reservation on the website, maybe once or twice a day at least and more often near your trip. There is a 10$/person charge if you don't cancel the day before, so a lot of people cancel their reservations in the days leading to it... so keep trying, even on same day!

I'm in the same boat and now TWICE a place showed up and by the time I clicked to make the reservation, it's suddenly gone! :(

Also check the November ADR thread for people who are posting that they are giving up reservations. Sometimes people are willing to coordinate with you to give you the best chance of snagging whatever they're giving up. I am probably giving up a BOG for 2 people for one day in November, but I'm hesitant to part with it just yet as I haven't found a replacement on the dates I actually want.

Thanks for the update. I'll check for a reservation periodically and if no joy take my chances. Worse case scenario is we see if we can sweet talk someone in line who hasn't pre-ordered into buying us a couple cupcakes :) We're going during F&W and so we're really saving our appetites (and budget!) for eating around the food carts.

FYI, the grey stuff is not a cupcake. You might be disappointed if that's your only reason for going. It's literally just a small mound of "frosting".

Actually, the Master's cupcake is a chocolate cupcake topped with the grey stuff, and is available at lunch.

What's the plan there....to wait on them an hour outside the restaurant while they're inside eating?

Seriously....throw some Cool Whip and Oreos in a blender. Voila....grey stuff.

Oh, and one other thing...you can't talk to people in line. The line is across the bridge, which you won't be able to access.

Correct, the Master's Cupcake is the chocolate cupcake with grey stuff on top, available at breakfast or lunch and "The Grey Stuff" at dinner is a crispy chocolate brownie thing with grey stuff on top. The mound of grey stuff on a plate has not been offered in at least a year and was only available by request, it was not on the actual menu.

they do still take some walk ins. There is no stand by line but you can get lucky last moment. Worth a try!
