trying to get 7 of us into Be Our Guest at some point in the 3rd week of March. My question is this, is it safe or should I snatch up reservations for 2 or 3 as they open up until I have 7 seats. once we arrive would we be able to somehow get our party to sit together. I grew up going to Disney several times a year for 20 years but now 20 years later we are returning with our children and everything is new.

You'll definitely want to look for a reservation for 7 or 8 people as opposed to two separate reservations splitting the group up.

As much as possible try to get a single reservation for your entire party. If you cannot find a res for 7, try adding 1 person and look for a party of 8. When you arrive let the CMs at the podium know there are 7 of you. You will not be charged the no show fee for the "missing" 8th person. Next I would then try for 2 reservations for 4 as close in time as possible.

You can try for 4 reservations for 2 or combinations that add up to the number in your party, but if you have multiple reservations for 2 or 3 it will be harder for the CMs to seat you together or even near each other. If you look for multiple reservations they should be as close together in time as possible. If they are spread out over the evening some of your party might be asked to return closer to their res time.

Since your trip is only 2 months away you will have to be persistent. Keep checking online multiple times a day because you are looking for cancellations which go back into the system almost immediately so it's a matter of being online checking just as one re-enters the system. If you are flexible in your date and time you have more chances especially since the third week of March will fall within the Spring Break season.

You can also subscribe to the March cancellation thread. Be sure to read the rules in post #1 because it looks like quite a few posts have been deleted by the mod recently:

We did this in September. We had 3 reservations at the same time - our group was broken up. We went early and asked them to seat all 10 of us together but they couldn't do it. They were nice about getting our tables close together but we had to wait longer for this.
