BOG reservation tips :)

Hello!

Is it even possible to get a reservation? I feel like it's extremely hard.
We are only staying at POR for 3 nights. Does that mean we get 180+3 days to book ahead? We have to be logged in to MDE for that to work?

I am planning on trying to get a dinner reservation for 10/23/15. If it reservations open at 6am, I guess I am waking up at 3am (California time) to try and get in.

Do you think I have a chance? Or pretty much people with 180+10 days or whatever will book it up first?

Yes it is 180+3. You must logged into MDE for the "+3" part. Otherwise you can only do 180 days. And yes, reservation open at 6am on east coast, so 3am your time. I never tried for BOG dinner, but try that first day and keep trying periodically if you don't get it. I've heard that choosing "dinner" instead of a specific time better, and vice versa. Try to be open to a different date if you can.

We are a party of 8 180+4 and I was able to get a reservation on day 4, but really wanted for day 2.

I ended up getting one about a week ago a month before my trip it's possible just keep trying. Good luck!

That's awesome! Especially for a party of 8.

Our date in mind is 10/23/15 which is also a MNSSHP.

I am still really not sure about this 180+3 days things. For example, if I login into the MDE website right now I am not able to book for 10/7/15. It's grayed out.

Oh..I think I get it now. If you can book 180 days from your check in date. That's why it is better to try to visit MK at the end of your trip.

How big is your party? I think if you have a smaller party you definitely have a shot. Keep trying if you don't originally get something. I know a few people who couldn't get something initially and were able to closer to their vacation. If you have a large party, you can try splitting it up into two smaller reservations if needed. Good luck!

I just yesterday got a reservation for 4 for 4/22. Granted, it's a pretty early dinner reservation at 4:10, but it will work for us I saw another available for 9:30 on 4/22 for a party of 4. So they do pop up!

Disney also seems to be holding some back for releasing at a later date. For us it was maybe at 60 days out?

If you can't get it at first keep trying at least once a day. I have several ADRs I'm holding (2 BOG lunches) until I can book my FP+. Once I have those scheduled I plan to release my extras. Since I can book FP+ 60 days out I don't feel guilty about holding them - I know someone will be happy to find them the day I get to cancel.

Basically I checked it multiple times a day randomly and finally got ones that would pop-up because people cancel so much for whatever reason!!
In fact, I got to go to BOG twice when I went to WDW because of this

I only have 3 people in my party. My daughter really wants to go. If not, I am not sure what would be our second choice. Cinderella's makes you pay up front for a reservation.

Really? That's good to know. I can keep checking if I don't get it initially. I wonder if BOG keeps breakfast open it will help with more openings during the day. We can only go for dinner because we are entering the park at 4pm.

If you don't get what you want, subscribe to the canceled ADR thread for your month and keep an eye out for your dates. Something will probably open up. I don't know if Disney is really holding back and releasing later. I think the reality is that there is a lot of BOG ADR hoarding going on right now. People are booking 5 or 6 lunch and dinner ADRs (sometimes both for the same day) and then they're holding on to all of them until their plans are finalized then canceling most of them. It's really selfish and rude, IMO.

We're there late Sept/early Oct. BOG dinner were mostly gone for the MNSSHP dates with my 180+10! Take whatever you can get, then keep checking. Good luck!

It's not BOG specific. There is one for each month for all ADRs. In the dining reservations forum, I believe it's a sub forum under Disney dining. Sorry can't post a link, on my phone.

This is the exact reason Disney did the no show fee policy.

Before the no show fee policy, some people weren't canceling at all.

Just keep calling and pestering the dinning line (407) 939-1947 till you get one.

Also you can try in am day of to see if anyone cancelled last min.

If you don't get it the first time keep checking. Also even check at the last minute. I am trying to change my dinner time and today I checked the for BOG reservations for tomorrow and I couldn't believe how many there were. So now my plan is to check the day before. Just don't give up! Oh and check the cancelled ADRS thread.
