BoG Open-Faced Bacon and Egg Sandwich

I saw that this is now served on a croissant instead of a baguette like back in 2015. Any one knows if I can sub the croissant for the toasted baguette that comes with the assorted Cured Meats and Cheese plate?
 
I was so bummed when they changed this. My husband didn’t believe me when I said it originally was on a baguette. We argued about it, until I googled it, and proved it to him. :rotfl: On our trip in September, I switched to the croque Madame instead. :thumbsup2
 

I was bummed about the change too. I figured I would just ask if I could have the baguette instead when I got there and alas, I was shot down.
 
I didn't realize there were people who didn't like croissants? Or is this just a preference for the baguette?
 
Apparently there are quite a few people on DIS that don't like/want the croissant. I love croissants!
 
As someone who is now gluten-free but used to love both, I would be happy with either. :( Millet bread is gross.
 
I love croissants, but I had the baguette from the beginning and it was wounderful, why stop something that was perfect before? It will change the texture of the whole thing, and the flavor for that matter.....

I like croissants and I like breakfast sandwiches on croissants but the baguette is what made this entree different, not soggy and a solid breakfast. Plus there are croissants on the breakfast platter which I would normally get stuck with because the others want the "good stuff".
 
I'm still sad about this change. Now it's just breakfast, used to be a special meal. The quality of BOG breakfast has dropped significantly...I miss the real pastries too. The current offerings are similar to gas station treats.

I'm with you! It sounded like an improvement to me when I first read the thread.

But there's a good point made here - why change a good thing? I will join you all in your moment of silence (or outrage from looking at the tone of this thread) for the dear departed baguette!

Croissants are nothing special for us, and neither would be a plain baguette .... croissant breakfast sandwiches area dime a dozen but never see breakfast meals offered on a baguette. Just nice to have something different, especially at those prices.
