BOG lunch reservations question

First off I am not trying to cheat or circumvent the rules in any way, I am a big rule follower and am not trying to cut in line. I know sometimes reservation topics can get heated, I am not trying to do anything shady.

So somehow I managed to snag a lunch reservation for 2 on a Monday of our trip (8/27), however now a friend is joining us. So I need to add a person.

1. Is it possible to show up and check in and then be willing to wait for a table for 3 to open. If so would it be the same wait time as people waiting in the stand by line.

2. Will currently having a 1:05 reservation still allow me to search for any times available or it is like a fast pass that omits options in your current reserved window. In other words do I need to cancel what I have in order to look for something for all 3 of us.

1. They might let you, they might not....more likely not
2. You can still search for reservations. Your best bet would be to find a reservation for 1 person at or around the same time as your current reservation. It's open seating, so you can still sit together even with separate reservations.

I am going to keep trying the 3 people but also now trying the 1 person. If I somehow snag a 1 person reservation can I just put it in my name. Does it matter since it is just quick service lunch.

This! You can continue to search for reservations while you hold your current reservation. I would search for reservations for 1, 2 and 3 people and snag whatever comes up. If you find one for 1 or 2 around the same time as your current reservation, book it and then, once you are all inside you can sit together. Just know, if you get one for 1 or 2 during a close time, you are going to need to make that ADR under your friend's or a different MDE account.

You can also set up a search on Touring Plans reservation finder.

You can try walking up, but chances are slim they will let all 3 of you in.

You may be able to ask and either be seated, or wait as though you are standby (which could be hours, so essentially like being turned away and you'd lose the $10 pp cancellation fee). It's always free to ask, but it's not highly likely they can accommodate this.

Try making an ADR for 4 people (the system seems to like even numbers), or make the ADR for 1 person and 2 people at close times.

You will be able to search for reservations even though you already have one. If you choose a new one that conflicts with the original one, it will ask you to choose which one you'd like to keep or cancel.

I would set up Touring Plans reservation finder to look for a reservation for 1 in the same time frame as your original one, and for a reservation for 3, while also looking for a reservation for 3 through the Disney site/app. In my experience, if I make a reservation by clicking on the link from the Touring Plans email, it won't make me cancel an existing reservation in the same time, so you could potentially avoid making a second MDE account for a second reservation.
