Don't order a kids meal.....
the pork has been a huge hit with both of my college girls. I actually looked at the kids portion for my self since it's so big but saw that they don't serve it with the mashed potatoes and green beans. Hence, we split it.Yeah this is probably the solution, have them split one of the sandwiches and you can't really tell it's on a wheat bread. You can leave off the sauce and everyone's happy. My son enjoyed the ham sandwich but liked my pork roast and green beans more. I nearly fell off my chair when he said he would rather have that next time!
None of them are going to eat a cupcake with "grey stuff" lol.

Then they can make rules and enforce them like many places. . Kids menus are for kids. If you want a light meal order an appetizer or split a meal .when I'm scoping out a menu for myself send in want to eat lighter I'm looking at apps, not kid menus . I do like the option of an adult sized and priced version if kid menus for picky adults though. To be fair, the other reason Disney doesn't serve adult food in mini-size for kids is that many adults would try to order it...and Disney is all about the money while also trying to not be the location of "no". By offering mostly kid food for kid meals, they discourage adults from ever ordering them, thus never needing to say no or leave money on the table...
Since my hubby and I scored a reservation back when it first opened (through the email that they would send out) I have tried to get a lunch reservation for each trip since. This past visit my older daughter's best friend, who was with us asked that I get an ADR for BOG as we had had to cancel that one for her trip with us the prior year since the girls wanted to go to Animal Kingdom at lunch. She was impressed as well this trip. It was the first one I booked for my upcoming January and March trips too!I thought it was pretty good too. All I'm looking for when it comes to food at Disney is a place where we all find something we like. As you go with higher number groups I know that's hard. For a group of 2-3, I feel very lucky we all like similar things.
I know, but to them it "looks funny"That's too bad, it's just cookies and cream!

I order off of the adult menu instead of kids menu at a lot of places at Disney. This specific meal is a Candlelight Processional dinner, and I wasn't willing to pay the adult price for that. I will ask if anything can be substituted but I'm already planning that I'll probably just end up sharing my food. You can probably order the adult couscous or the chicken kabobs split between 2 kids and the chefs would probably sub out the seasonal veg or olive salad with the kid meal normal side. You don't get an included kid beverage and it costs a little more (and a lot more if you have 1 kid), but it's doable...
You can probably also drop ingredients out of the couscous (or reduce any spice) if you ask. Again, it probably will just take a little longer to receive the food.
Honestly, I don't think that's "trouble." Epcot is a perfect example. You want a slab of meat? Go to Le Cellier! You want couscous? Marrakesh has you covered. Food poisoning? Electric Umbrella!Trouble is, there's too many likes, dislikes/other issues to make a menu cater for everyone possible!
