We have an 11:45 lunch adr for our mid-summer trip.

Have never been to BOG and dinner does not fit our plans.

Please share any tips or tricks for surviving the lunch chaos.

I plan to order online and we will likely be on DDP and so will use QS credits. (We've used DDP many times in the past.). We do have a newly diagnosed food allergy that we haven't had to deal with at WDW before.

We're a party of 8, 2 grandparents, 2 parents, an aunt and 3 kids (9 and 7) ... do we have any chance of being able to eat together?

I'm pretty sure I remember tables for 8+. However, since you'll be there about an hour past lunch start, it's going to be more crowded. I'd suggest splitting up as soon as you get into the dining room so you can check the 3 rooms the fastest. The first to grab an open table wins. ;) Or talk amongst the group about which room/s you'd like to sit. Some might want to be in the West Wing, while others would prefer another and then you'd have a better chance of tables.

In my experience, we had no trouble finding seating for 5-6, and when we had breakfast in the West wing room, my youngest was too scared to eat.

Thanks for the reply ... knowing you were able to get seats for 6 gives me hope! The divide and search method has worked for us in the past, so will try that.

There are some 8 tops. Last time I had lunch there was pre ADR, so I don't know if the madness has increased. We were among the first diners that day and had no problem securing an 8 top in the west wing.

We had 7 and sat in the ballroom for lunch as tables were harder to come by. For breakfast, we preordered and had a pre-opening ADR and were able to get a table in the West Wing. There are tables for 8.

Last June, we visited BOG for lunch with a group of 8 adults. We hadn't ordered ahead of time, so that took up some of our time. The biggest suggestion I have is what a previous posted said above - split up as soon as you can and go out and find your table. :) We were able to find seating in the Music Box room.

I don't think anyone in our group has their heart set on a particular room, so that should increase our odds of scouting out a table for 8.

One other tip. If you are on the DDP, book reservations for each individual group and then just sit together in the restaurant. If you want to pre-order, all the credits will come from one DDP if you've booked a bigger group. (i.e. Last year I booked a ressie for 6 - myself, brother and sil + 3 kiddos. We were in 2 different rooms. All pre-ordered credits came off my band so we had to remember to use their bands to get 2 of my QS meals. Might not have been a problem except that we didn't spend a lot of time together in the parks.)

We're all in one room (love my DVC), and tend to stick together for the most part, so no DDP credit issues to worry about, thankfully!

I agree that for other larger groups your idea might be really useful. Also, I think it might be easier at times to get say 2 adrs for parties of 4 instead of 1 adr for a party of 8.

Order ahead of time. That was my regret last summer--the line was long but moving at the ordering line. I didn't order ahead of time because my daughter has multiple food allergies. As it turns out, the ordering kiosk is very similar to the online ordering system. Just enter your allergies and the menu will give you the alternatives. My daughter has dairy, egg, peanut, shellfish, soy and others. She is fine eating at BOG.

Unlike dinner, your party has to go look for a table after ordering. Just divide your group to the three rooms and see who get a table for eight first.

We are a party of 7 and our last two trips had no problem grabbing a table for 8 in the music box room. Our trip before that we wanted the West Wing and we had to separate and sit 3/4 at different tables. If you don't care about what room, I think you will find something.

Thanks for the reply ... glad to know we can note allergies on the pre-order. Ours allergy is tree nuts (certain ones) and seasame ... hoping things will work out. DCL was great on our 11 night Iceland cruise last summer when it was still a pretty new diagnosis.

My daughter has treenut and sesame plus all the others. Don't worry, WDW takes really good care of her. My older daughter grew out of many of allergies, and she sometimes feels jealous of her little sister's special attention.
