BOG Lunch and snack credit

We haven’t been to WDW since they changed the DDP. I used to substitute a bowl of soup for dessert at BOG during lunch. Does anyone know if I can order a bowl of soup using a snack credit now, or will it have to be paid for OOP?

It seems that now you can either use a full QS credit or pay OOP. It's not a snack credit anymore:

Bummer.. I really enjoy the soup but you are right, it’s a terrible use of a QS credit. We always have extra snack credits, so I was hoping to use one and not pay OOP for the soup.

When did you go last year? It changed at some point last summer. We went around mid August and we were unable to get the soup as a snack credit.

That’s disappointing. We went a year ago January. We are heading back in August, and I was thinking of making an ADR just for soup.

You still can...you'll just have to pay OOP for it.

True, of course. My brain was in “must use dining plan” mode. What I need to remember is that I’m doing a split stay this time and will have three days at the end with no dining plan.
