I'm trying to figure out what to order at BOG, I'm considering getting a soup and the braised chicken kids meal. For an adult, do you think this is enough food? $19 is a huge amount to pay for the adult portion plus the $8 soup. Does anyone have pictures of the kids portion, or a recent experience?

My best friend just got back from WDW..And yes. It is just too $$ there for what you get and described. So, he did just that got a kids meal...even though he is 48lol. He said it was good, but two hours later he was at Cosmic Rays.....so go figure.
I mean 27.00 for soup and chicken...ah nope. We eat at places to experience it...and often order a kids meal for the money savings.
I am assuming since he then went to get a burger....the portion was kinda small.

The portions of a kid's meal at BOG is small. You can definitely order it, just be prepared to be hungry shortly after.

If you have never been in the castle, it is worth a visit. Please know you are not required to order a meal, you could just order a drink and dessert, or drink and soup.

My 24 year old daughter and I have ordered kids meals at BOG so that we would have room for a cupcake! Love the pork. I think a kids meal and soup would be enough for most adults for lunch.

Agree with PP that the portions, even adult size, at BOG are small (compared to most other disney restaurants). It's a nice size if you aren't a big eater. My kids are not big eaters so the kids meals work for them. We aren't really big eaters but sharing was not a good choice as we did that on our first visit. I was glad I packed snacks.

We also did the grey stuff cupcakes but again, not enough to justify the cost. We do BOG for the PPO breakfast benefit only, no other meals although I understand lunch is the best value.

The kids portions are extremely small and are not intended for adults. You are paying a surcharge for the location. If you are just going there for the location, get some soup or cupcake there and get lunch elsewhere
(although candidly, I'm not sure where you else you would eat for substantially cheaper because all of the quick service meals at WDW these days seem to hover around a $15 average for an entrée)
.

I haven't had the kid's braised chicken, but if it is the same portion size as the old kid's braised pork I would consider it a fine portion size for an adult, especially with the addition of a soup. The old dish was a perfect size for me on a hot day, I was satisfied but not stuffed.

It's one of my favorite restaurants, and dd and dh have indulged me each time. They don't like it. Dh said he wants the braised pork ribs and mashed potatoes back on the lunch menu, and that they could stand to make it a more filling portion size, and maybe add a hamburger and fries instead of all the "frou-frou" food. (He would rather Cosmic Rays.)

I really enjoyed the carved turkey sandwich. We got cupcakes also. The baby really liked his master's cupcake with the gray stuff. It was delicious (don't believe him; ask the dishes).
Dd and I got the lemon and strawberry cupcakes and split each.
