I booked BOG for my Dec. trip for a party of 4 and now my oldest daughter wants to join us for dinner but they have no availability for a party of 5 for our entire stay :( Our ressie is for Dec.24. Any suggestions? If we go with 5 will they turn us away? I spent 6 hours on the phone for this ressie, We really want to go to dinner here. Any advice is appreciated.

You don't have many options.

You can show up with 5 and ask if they can accomodate. If they say no, you need a backup plan so be prepared to eat at a QS location. If you would like to have a TS location as a backup, be prepared to spend the $10 (I think that is what it is) for not showing up to one reservation, BUT be sure you make that backup resssie under someone elses name and with another CC than the one used for BOG.

Outside of that, just keep calling and checking online to see if a ressie for 5 beceoms available or show up with some cold hard $ and offer to a family of 5 that you see walking up around your ressie time.

Did you call to see if they could adjust it? If they can't, your best bet besides keep checking is to show up at opening and talk to the host. It's going to be hard but I will send some pixie dust your way!

I would call and ask if they can accommodate one more. Chances are it won't be a big deal.

If, because of the ridiculous demand for the restaurant, they can't do that over the phone, I would just show up. The chances of them turning you away because there's one more person in your party than anticipated seems slim.

Call and ask!

If they say no, ask everyone in your party to see if everyone actually want to go.

If they all do, just turn up and see if it's ok with one extra person.

If not, go to your plan b which probably will have o be QS, unless you want to risk paying a fine at some other restaurant if you don't turn up to your reservation there.

Thanks everyone! My husband said he would take a rest while me and our 3 daughters would dine here (we are the ones that really want to try out BOG) I did call and try to add 1 more guest but they were booked.I will keep trying and thanks for the pixie dust.:thumbsup2

The problem is that you are going from a 4-top table to a 6-top table; often hard to accommodate in a restaurant if they are really busy.

If you were going the other direction, they would most likely accommodate you, because they could sneak in another couple waiting for their ADR.

Considering it is on Christmas eve, they are probably going to be super busy and I would have a plan "B".

1) Disney is getting wise to the "but, they decided to join us" trick
2) People can't always get the ADR they want.
3) So, they under-count to get a table.
4) Then, they show up with "unexpected" additional people.
5) In a team meeting, CM's have been told to warn guests against this.
6) If there is room, WDW will not turn away revenue.
7) But, if busy, they will turn away the additions.
8) Go ahead any arrive with the extras, if you like.
9) Just be prepared to have someone stand around while you eat.

NOTE: Twice I picked up shifts as a host or seater at a character meal.
On both days, I turned away people who showed up as extra people. To
me, it was just rude to try to squeeze in extras. Oh well, several folks
ended up eating elsewhere, while the original ADR people sat and ate.

NOTE2: This will be especially in force for BOG. Since the demand is so high,
many folks can't get their size party. Thus, they will ONLY honor the ressie
size party. You might want to determine who will sit outside, as there is
only so much capacity, and they will use it all during the first few months.

They wouldn't get fired for doing their job. If you've ever worked retail or in the food industry...you would get tired of people's crap really quick. I would turn people away if it were busy...its no different than a walk up. Because essentially that extra person is a walk up since they weren't included in the ADR.

Show up with 5. I worked in restaurants for years. My guess is they'll accommodate you but you may have to wait.

I'd call around and make a Plan B ADR.

One of the standard strategies hasn't been mentioned - try for a reservation for a party of six. The automated system has a "thing" about odd-numbered parties in many locations.

As long as your party of five shows up, you won't be penalized for a "missing" person.

That's a good compromise! He'll get some quiet time while y'all get some girl time! :)

1) Nope.
2) As I stated, if no capacity, people are turned away.
3) There was no extra capacity.
4) IF BUSY, you just can't show up with extras and expect special attention.
5) What about all the others who couldn't get a ressie?
6) If everyone was accomodated, wouldn't be room for those with ADR's.

If the restaurant is full, then the extra person will be turned away. And on Christmas Eve, I'd expect full. The OP does have an alternative ready (her husband will sit out if necessary).

Still worth a try. You never know maybe the ADR for 5 just ahead of them in line had someone take ill and they showed up with 4.

I do expect BOG to be the hardest to make this happen, but it never hurts to ask.
