I have been to BOG for dinner twice and have had the shrimp and scallops in puff patry. Loved it! The menu on the Disboards still describes it as such. But lately, I have seen the shrimp and scallops served with pasta instead of the puff pastry. Have they changed it to pasta? Can anyone comment on whether it is still good, an improvement or not as good?

Also, can we request a room such as West Wing or the main dining room?

On our last few trips that dish has been a different way each time and I have enjoyed it. No you can't request a room for dinner. I don't know if when you check in if they would allow you to ask for a room and wait until it is available.

We were there beginning of August and ate there twice. It was a pasta dish and we all really loved it. I ordered it the first time and my family had a couple bites and when we went the second time I ordered it again

Ah, that's good. Anything else you might recommend on the menu? (My sister is allergic to fish and seafood).

I love the French onion soup as an appetizer and the rest of my family with allergies gets steak with either a baked potato or fries I can't remember which and steamed veggies which they really enjoy.

I was actually considering getting the French onion soup until I read the DisUnplugged dining review of BOG. They had just an OK dining experience and he certainly didn't like his soup! It looked good to me. We had an excellent meal in 2012, just after it opened, then again in 2013. In 2012, we had a great white wine that we are still talking about. Hopefully, we can find a great white there again.

My daughter liked the shrimp dish with the pasta much more than the pastry. I always get the steak - it has always been yummy. As for the onion soup - it is very good. People have different tastes but I say if it looks good to you get it! Don't let one persons opinion sway you. I think most people like the soup. (That I have heard anyway / no official survey done lol)

That is good to know about the shrimp and scallops with pasta. That's what I will be getting! I will get the soup as well if I am super hungry.

Ok - someone please tell me that I am not the only one who already has their meals picked out 3 months in advance!

My niece had the French onion at both Chefs de France and BOG. Said she liked Chefs better, but BOG was still pretty good.

I have read that the soup at Chefs has a beef broth base while the soup at BOG is vegetable based.

Nope I do too and then get frustrated when they change the menu lol.

The pasta was excellent. I order french onion soup everywhere I go, and theirs was pretty good.

First time at BOG, the shrimp/scallop dish was with a puff pastry, but back in December, it was pasta. It was more filling with the pasta, and the noodles were wide and good quality. I try to avoid pasta, so I prefer the puff pastry. The puff pastry itself wasn't very good and got soggy, so I mainly ate the seafood.

I usually have that in place when we book ADRs at the 180 day mark and then look at the menus once a month up to a few days before to make sure what I want is still being offered.
