BOG Breakfast-How Many Trips Through The Mine?

Dilemma-- when I booked our ADR for BOG breakfast, park opening was posted at 0900. The earliest breakfast reservation I could get was 0835. Now MK EMH starts at 0700! Needless to say, the 0835 BOG breakfast will be smack dab in prime riding time (Commando morning with a slower pace the rest of the day). I think I should ditch the ADR, since the park will (hopefully) be less than packed at that time, prior to the masses descending. Thoughts? TIA!
I would ditch the adr and take advantage of the riding time. Maybe you can find a lunch adr and use it as a chance to escape the afternoon crowds for a bit?

One of my best Disney days was this past September we had an 8:15 ADR for BOG, we were done by 8:45. Left and headed straight for the mine train, they directed us through the FP queue and I was able to 3 times before the park opened :D

I was there yesterday. We had an 8:20 ADR and finished around 8:40. We walked straight over to 7DMT. By the time we got there, they had already let two trains go through. We rode twice before the rope drop crowd arrived.

Not holding my breath for the lunch ADR, but as far as breakfast, I think I will let it go. . .:stitch:(couldn't resist--no Frozen emoji in my supply, however).

It's worth a shot to look, and subscribe to the cancellation thread for your month here on the restaurants board. I couldn't get any BOG ADRs (when they did dinner ADRS only) at my 180 day mark. I managed to get one through the cancellatin thread here about a month, maybe a little less, before my trip. Check the night before too, or even first thing the morning of! People will cancel the day / night before to avoid the fees.

This is such a great thread. So this is my plan and would like to know if it would work.

Arrive at the park gate by 7.45? Already Pre ordered our breakfast.
BOG ADR at 8.05am and 8.10am (could not get them together) with park opening at 9am.

Can we ride 7DMT (twice) and head to stand in line for A&E before the rope drop crowd?
Hubby and I have to ride separate (infant) So my 4 years old can ride twice!

Is this possible? Also we have our first FP for the day for PP at 9.45am
What time should we aim to finish our breakfast? To get to the line and complete the task at hand!

Thanks so much!!!!

I'd shoot more for 7:30 for arrival. 7:45 is about when they start to let you into the park and you want to be near the front of the crowd, especially if stopping to take a pic or two. Just walk with a purpose, take some quick pics, and go right to BOG. Ideal would be to be one of the first 6-8 parties there as they'll have about that many screens open to confirm order/pay (if the preorder isn't open which it frequently isn't then you go to a regular kiosk and confirm there). I'd plan to be out NLT 8:30 (or 8:35 at the latest). I wouldn't waste time with a parent swap. The first parent can even leave early with the 4yo and go join the line of people waiting for 7D. They normally hold you near where you'd turn left walking from 7D to head to the FP line then any time from 8:30 to 8:55 (depending on the day) they'll lead you through the FP line. Second parent and infant can be waiting where you come out (by FPP line). Assuming the masses haven't arrived yet, it's easy to get in the line as soon as you see them coming and hand off the baby/4yo since the lines are parallel coming out (outside of the formal queue). I would then send the first parent to get in the queue for A&E - again, they'll be held outside so it would be easy for the other parent and 4yo to join them if before park opening. If the timing isn't working (ie by the time they open the 7D queue it's already 8:45 or later), I'd have one parent ride and get a parent swap and then go to A&E sooner and have the second parent ride later.

Incidentally, having one for 8:05 and one for 8:10 will make absolutely NO difference - you can both go in and sit together. If you're not ordering for everyone anyway, just put one meal on each order so you "used" your ADR and then share the free pastries. We find in general that one meal and pastries feeds 2 adults easily so 2 meals should be more than enough for 2 adults and a toddler. (unless of course you're using a dining plan). Remember that your 9:45 fastpass is good until 10:45 so I'd take advantage of short lines elsewhere (things like Splash and Thunder, Space, Buzz will have almost no line then) and wait and return after the peak morning time for PP.

On Friday, either I missed the pre-rope drop riders, or they didn't have any because when I got in line at about 8:55, the only train I saw was an empty one running. There was no one in it at all. There was a line outside of the ride, but no one in the "inside" part of the queue. They opened that up right about then, and the line moved quickly into the ride.

My "guess" is that by 8:55 AM,they had already "closed" the ride to BOGers(they use the FP+ queue not the standby queue) and were just cycling empty trains at that point waiting on the Main gate riders.:)

@marciemi thank you very much for all the detailed info. Absolutely awesome! :-)

Do you know where I can park my double side by side stroller during all this time? Should I park in a specific spot and then walk to BOG? that way, we would be hands free to join 7D and A&E lines?

Ok shall def get to the park gate by 7.30. we are taking a cab in the am to Contempory and plan to walk to the gates from there. How much time should I leave for this? Should I plan to be at the Contempory by 715?

Thanks again!!!

Is it possible to ride before you eat? What if your reservation is for 8:50?

I had a breakfast BOG reservation on Friday, December 4. Upon finishing breakfast at 8:30ish, we were led to form a line near the mine train. They let us into the Fastpass queue in time to get one ride in, perhaps at 8:50 or so. No earlier. By the time my family got off at 9, the regular line extended way back towards the tea cups, so there was no chance for a quick second ride.

My "babies" are all in their 20'sbso I'm not much help there. I think there's a stroller parking area across from the 7D entrance but couldn't swear to it. Think you'd be fine bringing it to BOG then moving it while waiting on the first parent over by 7D. Might leave it there as you go to A&E to avoid parking a second time. And I'd think 715 should be good - I've always heard 10-15 min to walk from there but only done it once.

I'd say definitely yes if they let you in with the pre-RD crowd or you're near the very front of the RD crowd. I'd shoot to try to get in the tap style one by 830 and hope they'd let you in there early. They hold ADR's 15 min or so which would give you plenty of time.

Unless things have changed recently, they have been letting anyone with a BOG ADR in MK at 7:45 AM and letting them go ahead and eat Breakfast regardless of ADR time,so I would be at MK by 7:30 AM and unless things have changed, you'll be in good shape to eat and be ready for SDMT rides by 8:35 AM or so.:)

This was our experience on Sunday, December 6. We ate breakfast and got to ride the 7D twice before the park opened and the line got long.

We were also there on 11/29. Just my wife and I. We had an 8:00 BOG and we got out of there by 8:30 and the mine train was already running. We got three rides in before the masses descended on the ride. For a second I thought we were going to get four rides but we came out and chaos had already ensued.
We were there one week earlier and on our three days the ride was not opened until quarter of...still got an early ride everyday

They must have waited til the opened the park when we were there 11-12 to 11-21. Waited in line for 10-15 minutes and at 8:45 we were let in..one ride and when we came out the line was long..happy to get the one extra ride each day...great train ride

I sure hope they keep this up. I have 8:25 and 8:30 ADRs the first week of Feb for BOG on a Tue & Thu. I'm nervous about not having enough time to get out and over to the ride. But if they allow us in to eat well before, we're in business. Keeping fingers crossed!!
