BOG Breakfast Change # of Guests

I have an 8:45 BOG PPO that I made for 6. Two in our party cancelled their trip and now it's only 4. I was able to change all of our reservations to 4 except BOG. (I've been trying online for a month).

Q: Do I need to change it to 4? Will I be charged since they won't show?

I don't want to loose my reservation if I try to call WDW.

Don't worry about it. There is no penalty if less people show. As long as ONE person shows for the reservation, you're good.

I would call WDW dine so they can change it to 4. If only just to open a res for 2 people someone else would want.

Do you know how to modify a reservation? Go to the reservation in MDE. There will be a place where it says 'Modify'. Select that. Adjust the party size down (this only works for changing the party to a smaller size. It wont work for a larger one). You should then see the time listed for the smaller size party. Select it, and it will ask you to confirm the change.

I've only once on this board come across someone for whom this didn't work. If doesn't, a size discrepancy for two people won't be a problem. I would imagine the restaurants wouldn't be pleased if parties of 3 showed up with a reservation for 12, but a difference of two people won't be an issue at all.

i tried to modify the reservation from 6 to 4. They did not allow me to do that online (Ive tried several times). I was scared to call and then they say I had to cancel the whole reservation.

Strange that it modifying it isn't working! This is only the second time I have ever heard of this. I modify reservations all the time. If the time I want isn't available for my size party, I automatically look for a time for a larger party and then modify it down.

It's really thoughtful of you to want to adjust your reservation to reflect the correct number in your party, but I really wouldn't worry about having a reservation for two additional people.

If you really wanted, you could call and ask them if there's a way they can do it for you. I find the phone CM's (resort and dining reservations in particular) pretty unhelpful, especially around things like this that they might not know the answer to. If I don't like the answer the CM on the phone gives me, I hang up and call back so I can talk to someone else.

If the MDE app isn't letting you modify, you could call and try to get someone from tech support. They've helped me before when MDE wasn't functioning properly. I'd say not being able to modify a reservation falls into this category.

I have the same problem with BOG lunch... been trying to modify from 4 to 2 for over a month with no success.

Very strange! I hope this doesn't happen to me. I've been known to take a reservation for 12 when there are only 4 of us. Imagine if I couldn't modify it!! I don't think the restaurant would be too happy with me. I guess if it were 3-4 more people than our actual party size, I would post on this board to see if anyone wanted to share the reservation with our family. A difference of 2 people, though, will not be a problem for the restaurant. Try not too feel guilty about it. The thought was there and you tried to modify it, it isn't your fault if the system won't accept it. And enjoy your meal!

I had to change all my ADRs from 4 to 2 and all of them worked perfectly except BOG.... so it might just be something specific with that restaurant.

I think you could be onto something there. It seems everyone who experiences this has QS breakfast or lunch reservations. I was able to change one at BOG for dinner recently, but I'm wondering if the issue could be the reservations for other meals.
