Sorry search is down...

I read that you can use roll-on deodorant instead of the body glide? I forgot if it needs to be deodorant ONLY or if it is okay for it to be anti-persperent as well.......

Does anyone have experience with using this as a substitute? Which brand did you use?

We are leaving in two days and I cant get the actual Body Glide.

We can't find Body Glide locally either. It must be a summer product, because the sporting goods stores said they usually carry it. I plan to simply use my regular antipespirant (Dove), and believe the previous posts said any of them were fine.

I have used both, Body Glide and stick anti-perspirants / deodorant while wearing skirts to work this summer and personally I think I like the anti-perspirants / deodorant better than the Body Glide. Both help with the friction, but I don’t think Body Glide does as good of a job with the moisture that can happen with the hot weather. Also, I think that Body Glide would need to be reapplied, but the deodorant didn't seem like it would need to be. I plan on having both with me when we go in September.

Just saw this advertised on tv and had to go to Target to buy (we leave Monday and I am finally preparing my bags):

New from the makers of Monistat: Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder-Gel Skin Protectant "Creates a Silky, Invisible Barrier on Skin" - says it relieves chafing from moisture, movement & shaving, and is for inner thigh and bikini area

Although it isn't super expensive, it isn't super cheap either! The samll tube (1.5 oz) cost about $7. Hopefully it works!!!

You have to use an anti-perspirant solid. Any brand will do but, I would go for one that is unscented as the perfumes can be irritating.

I just bought some of this at Wal-mart this morning. Sure isn't a big tube. Think I better go buy some more before we leave.

I buy a cheap can of Suave anti-perspirant / deodorant spray and literally spray down everyone's feet before they put on their Crocs and walk out the door to the parks. (Prevents blisters!) It also works great in that other area - both DH and I spray there before heading out. :teeth:

I buy a big can of spray-on Secret anti-perspirant and spray down anything on me that might chafe.

I recently used a travel-size antiperspirant stick instead of Bodyglide, and it worked great! It was also small enough to tuck into my purse. I used Dove Sensitive Skin solid (not gel). Worked like a charm!

Out shopping today at drug store and noticed that BANDAID has a product now that supposedly works the same. They show a foot standing on tippee-toes BUT the package reads that you can also put on any areas that tend to rub together and prevent chafing!.

Also notice tonight while surfing that SPORTSMART (at least here in Canada) sells Body Glide

Since I normally use Arm & Hammer baking soda deodorant, I use that instead of Body Glide for places that tend to get chafed. It works well and stays on all day.

I know it sounds messy, but we use Vaseline. Putting your socks & shoes on after rubbing Vaseline on your feet sounds really messy, but by the end of the day there is no mess and your feet are smooth, soft and blister free. We use it on every trip to Disney.

I am a believer in Vaseline as well, especially for thigh chafing. Plus I've got a small one I use for lip gloss when I go to sleep at night.

The Monistat Anti-Chafing Gel is great. And a tiny bit goes a long way.
